Today there are new details about the DLC “Curse of Osiris” in a livestream on Twitch for Destiny 2. We will provide live updates at Mein MMO.
The second of three planned livestreams for the DLC “Curse of Osiris” is coming up. The release date for the DLC is December 5th. This is Expansion I, which will release simultaneously for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Today’s livestream will focus on “New Ways to Play,” and new activities are expected. Maybe we’ll get information about the heroic strike playlist, the new area Infinite Forest, and new PvP maps.

19:50: Welcome to the Mein MMO live ticker. Destiny is in a similar situation to 1. FC Köln. Financially, everything looks great, but the current season is not going well. The results are missing, even though it’s often close and we’re very near. One of the key managers has already disappeared into the bushes and is untraceable. The darkest hour has arrived, hope lies with the B team. But at least: It comes as it comes, and it has always turned out well!
19:56: Today in the stream, we are going into the Infinite Forest. This is a new area in Destiny 2 that is supposed to have slight variations each time. It is made up of various components. It is the place where the future, present, and past converge and overlap. The future is a terrifying place where everything is Vex.
20:01: Some people might mock this: The soundcheck from DeeJ contains just as much information as in a “This week at Bungie”; but … that would be mean.
The livestream starts
20:07: DeeJ with a beanie. Dave Matthews is the Art Director, he was already here last week. He is responsible for the artistic appearance, coordinating essentially how the look of Destiny 2 appears. Dan Miller in a t-shirt is the Game Director of the DLC, essentially the top boss, the director of the game.
20:09: Uh, DeeJ said endgame. Something completely new! Something with weapons in the endgame? A new system. Hopefully, there will be more and it’s not just the forge system that we introduced last week.
Public Event Vex Crossroads – the biggest and best event in Destiny, they say
20:11: The “biggest, most elaborate and rewarding public event in Destiny history” – looks a bit like “Vex attack Stargate.” It looks quite dynamic: You travel from place to place on these little islands. If you’re standing around shooting Vex, that could be pretty nice.
20:15: It must be frustrating for Bungie that they put so much effort into crafting new content here, while most people probably want to hear how they will overhaul the systems: The public event is supposed to have several heroic modifiers in any case. How they work exactly, we should learn soon from YouTubers and journalists. Apparently, a whole bunch already visited Bungie – they can only publish their content directly after the respective streams.
20:18: The “most rewarding” public event means: There are two chests at the end from which tokens come out. One must be a bit immune to irony there. Oh, now a new endgame reward system.
Endgame activity: The Forge
20:21: Here is the Forge – an endgame activity. We have already reported on this. Additionally, there is a new secret in the Lighthouse that one must collect. Brother Vance as the central quest giver. This starts a series of adventures that will explore Mercury. These adventures have heroic modifiers and are for stronger players.
20:24: The idea is that one gets an item, a “Verse.” To decipher it and obtain a specific weapon, one must embark on a kind of quest. However, the quest can be completed relatively freely. For example, you need to complete public events or strikes. Then you can solve a verse. It is submitted to Brother Vance, and in return, you receive a “Prophecy Weapon” – with which you’ll head to the Forge.
20:29: It then becomes quite a drama until one obtains the weapon. This should also be visible to everyone else. There are 11 legendary weapons in the Osiris look.
2 new Strikes in Osiris – they will first be played as missions
20:31: Strikes are supposed to become part of the story. Two new strikes will come with Curse of Osiris. But they will be first played in a story, and they should also be doable solo – once you have completed the campaign, these missions will then become strikes that you play in a team of three.
20:33: Hm, now DeeJ has said “endgame” three times, but there wasn’t really much about the system changes players are waiting for. This Forge is essentially a limited activity after the campaign ends, but nothing that one will do permanently.
The Infinite Forest
20:37: The Infinite Forest is intelligently assembled from prepared pieces. This is supposed to provide variety. All four alien races are here, allowing new combinations: This specific race combination has never fought against each other outside of the Infinite Forest.
20:40: There are different simulations of reality. In the “Dark Future,” Vex have won, there is neither light nor darkness, only the Vex. And apparently, the Fallen are also visiting there.
20:42: The individual adventures in the Infinite Forest are supposed to highlight different gameplay mechanics. The shown “Dark Future” version probably has jumping puzzles. DeeJ gets a simulated attack of acrophobia.
20:44: With all due love – every time a chest opens and a token and a blue item comes out, you can hear how a community facepalms.
20:45: DeeJ is completely right. The DLC now in Destiny 2 is really larger than the DLCs in year 1. However, Destiny 2 also has much larger system issues than Destiny 1 at the same time. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything about that this time either.
20:46: Next week weapon balance with Jon Weisnewski and new armor and a fashion show.
