The new horde mode in Destiny 2 throws Guardians into many rounds where they can fight for their loot. Fans should tackle the mode in teams of three, but one player wanted to see if it could be done solo and completed the “Legend” difficulty all by himself.
What kind of mode is this? In Destiny 2, players can play the free horde mode from “Into the Light” since April 9th. This is called Onslaught and throws Guardians onto different maps where they must defend generators and defeat enemies. The more rounds they survive, the more loot they ultimately get.
However, the mode has two difficulty levels and the hardest one is truly challenging. While even teams of three struggle with it, one Guardian managed to complete it solo.

Player even congratulated by the developer
What did the player achieve? Xeneris, a rather unknown Guardian in the Destiny scene, was the first to master the hardest level of “Onslaught” solo in less than 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 39 seconds. He used a Hunter with the “Nightstalker” focus and thus completed 50 rounds.
His achievement was recognized by prominent players like Gladd, and even one of the key designers of the Onslaught mode spoke up. Noah Lee, one of the developers responsible for the “Onslaught” mode, proclaimed that the “Legend” difficulty was not possible to do solo. But after Xeneris proved him wrong, Noah Lee changed his mind.
He praised Xeneris’s achievement and congratulated him on his victory with the following words: “I will never underestimate this player base again. I hereby give the highest honor: You are that guy.”
Destiny 2 is known for its talented players: In Destiny 2, there are many talents that can master various activities, often under the most absurd conditions. Whether raids or dungeons, which are usually designed for multiple players, there are Guardians like Esoterickk who tackle these activities solo, even on the hardest difficulty levels.
They demonstrate that with a lot of practice and discipline, anything is possible, and you just need to have patience. It was only a matter of time before the first player mastered the hard mode of Onslaught alone.
