Today, on December 8th, the raid wing “World Eater” starts in Destiny 2. Here you can follow the PvE content in the livestream.

Before the launch of “Curse of Osiris,” the new raid wing generated considerable discussion. Bungie only announced “new raid content,” leading the entire Guardian community to speculate what “raid content” could mean. A completely new raid? A PvE arena like the Prison of Elders? An extension of the current raid?
Now we know: The Leviathan raid will be expanded with a raid wing. This is called “World Eater” and takes you into the belly of the Leviathan. The new challenges will thus take place beneath the current raid encounters.
The kickoff will sound on Friday, December 8th, at 7 PM. If you can’t dive in directly yourself or prefer to watch others solve the mechanics first, you can check out Nexxoss Gaming here. He will take you into the raid wing. We will embed the Twitch stream here:
What is the raid wing actually?
The raid wing is a standalone raid activity that, like the previous raid in Destiny 2, takes place on the Leviathan. You explore new locations, solve specific mechanics, and in the end, defeat a completely new final boss.
“World Eater” is not supposed to be as extensive as the normal Leviathan raid, but it will be more challenging. You will receive new loot in the form of weapons, armor pieces, and cosmetic items as rewards.
The recommended power level is 300 (normal difficulty). The raid wing is played in a fireteam of up to 6 players.

Two more notes:
- Bungie will once again crown the “World First Run.” This means they will publicly announce the fireteam that can complete the raid wing first.
- There are a few “known issues” in the raid wing that may give some players advantages over others in the race. These issues could not be resolved before today’s launch, but Bungie did not want to delay the date.
