In Destiny 2, since the completion of The Final Shape, there are no more Seasons, but episodes. The current episode: Echos has received mixed reactions from players. The reason for this is the duration.
What are episodes? In Destiny 2, since the completion of The Final Shape, there are no more Seasons, but so-called episodes. Currently, the episode: Echos is still ongoing, which lasts from June 11 to October 8. An episode is divided into three acts.
A post from Destiny Bulletin
on X now reveals that Act 3 will bring a secret Exo.
However, the players seem to be less excited about this, as Bungie is making them wait another two months.
Act 3 won’t be released until August
Why do players have to wait two months? A major issue with the episodes of Destiny 2 seems to be that they last too long in the eyes of players. Currently, we are still in the first act of the episode. The new Exo mission along with the Exo weapon from Act 3 is not expected to be released until more than 60 days from today, June 20.
For many players, this is a thorn in the side. As Paul Tassi
writes in a post on X, he expresses his displeasure by stating what many seem to think: Man, this is going to take a long time.
How is the community reacting to this? Under the post on X, many other users seem to agree with him. Many players criticize mainly that new story segments are released only in small doses, and many appear to be annoyed by this. Another problem seems to be that episodes were originally supposed to deliver more content; however, many players do not perceive it that way.
Several users commented under the post:
- iiiBlueApple writes on X:
I am convinced that episodes are just Seasons, but everything in the original has been stretched even further.
- CANAD1AN_KRONiC comments on X:
Can I therefore rightfully say that episodes = Seasons? Or do people still have pitchforks against me?
- JustBlameCasual notes on X:
Episodes are just long, boring Seasons
This is not the first time Destiny 2 has been criticized by its players. Last year, the criticism was mainly directed at the DLC Lightfall
. On June 4, the expansion The Final Shape
was released. What the players think of this DLC can be read here: Has Destiny 2 finally picked itself up after a terrible year? Here’s what the reviews say about “The Final Shape” on Steam
