The chain Walmart has leaked a DLC for Destiny 2 in Canada. It is called Destiny Comet. What is behind it?
Leak sparks discussions. Walmart Canada has revealed a number of game titles – probably by mistake. They updated their website and a batch of pre-order products went online that have not yet been announced.
Retail chain leaks unannounced games
Among them are titles like Just Cause 4, Borderlands 3, Rage 2, Gears of War 5 and also “Destiny Comet.” A user on Twitter found it and posted it online. Since then, gamers have been discussing it.
Studio makes fun of the leak. This “leak” provides a lot of material for discussion. Because there are several titles included that players have been waiting for a long time. Mixed in are some titles that are known to be coming, such as The Division 2. Some studios use this leak to draw attention to themselves. Rage had a lot of fun with this image and laughs it off a bit.
Of course: The leak did not reveal much – only game titles.
What is the leak about? One does not know:
- whether these games are really all planned and Walmart accidentally released insider information
- or whether this is just speculation from the chain and placeholders went live. Because there are many games among them that are thought to be coming at some point, but have not yet been announced.
However, we know what Destiny Comet is all about.
Everything we know about Destiny Comet
“What is Comet?” Comet is the code name that Bungie and Activision use to describe the major expansions for Destiny. The expansion “The Taken King” for Destiny 1 was originally called “Comet – Plague of Darkness.”
Will there be one for Destiny 2? A “Comet” expansion is also planned for Destiny 2. It is expected in September 2018. According to the contract between Activision and Bungie, such a Comet expansion is intended for each part of Destiny, which is supposed to be released one year after the main title.
Do we already know anything about Comet? We at least know that all “major changes” that Bungie is planning for Destiny 2 are supposed to come with the expansion. So especially the change to weapon slots, the return of random rolls, and the reintroduction of the gear collection, the so-called “iPads.” Regarding the story, it is assumed, that the “Pyramid ships” will arrive, which were seen in the credits of Destiny 2. They became active again when the Traveler awoke. This is likely related to the “Darkness.”
When will we learn more about Destiny Comet? Bungie will reveal details about the September expansion at E3 2018. E3 2018 runs from June 12 to June 15. Then the actual name for “Destiny Comet” will likely be revealed. Because currently, it is probably just a placeholder.
Maybe there will also be information about some of the titles from the Walmart leak.
