Bungie is finally planning changes to the somewhat stagnant PvP with Destiny 2 Shadowkeep. These include adjustments to the matchmaking and your skill rating. This could also fix a long-term problem in the Crucible.
New changes to matchmaking: Just in time for Shadowkeep, Bungie is tweaking matchmaking. Even during ongoing PvP matches, your skill rating, which is how well or poorly you are rated in Destiny 2, should adjust and try to place you with similarly skilled Guardians.
The new thing is that each player is now evaluated individually, and at the end of the match, all Guardians will receive different glory points. Unfortunately, what parameters or indicators Destiny 2 uses to categorize matches (such as kills, teamwork, or damage dealt) are not yet known.
Previously, it was as follows: After the match, the whole team received a fixed points deduction or gain depending on the winning streak.
What the new change means: Average Guardians should now be able to expect comparable opponents. Who hopefully will appear less frequently: carries, boosters, Crucible virtuosos, and well-known streamers.
These will be quicker among themselves due to the changes, making it a less frustrating experience for average Guardians.

Is Bungie putting a stop to unfair carries and boosters?
What are carries anyway? In principle, it works like this: You give a third party your login credentials, and that person plays under your identity. This can be friends or family members, but also complete strangers.
In the meantime, this has developed into a lucrative business. Various platforms advertise providers with so-called carries or account recoveries.
In exchange for sometimes enormous sums of money, boosters play under the guise of your name. They are usually true PvP experts and complete various tasks for you.
A bit differently, it was with the “Trials Carries”. As some veterans may still remember, you played here together with a very talented Guardian in the team. The goal was to get to an unblemished ticket.
Why do players use account recoveries? Besides the challenge and thrill, there is still a valid reason to dive into the competitive playlist or in this case, to let someone else dive in for you: the top weapons! They are clearly the carrots in front of the Guardians’ noses.
However, not everyone wants to or can overcome the often demanding hurdles independently. This is where the questionable account recovery comes into play.
Even outside the Crucible, the top PvP weapons shine. For many Guardians, the Recluse or Mountaintop are some of the best options for PvE and are an integral part of many activities’ loadouts.

The problem for the honest PvP Guardian: Since the top weapons are very sought after due to their power, many players enter the Crucible. This happens sometimes more willingly and sometimes less so.
A booster or an entire team of PvP pros who pretends to be average players then faces significantly weaker opponents and usually dominates mercilessly.
Frustration for the average Guardian is therefore pre-programmed. It may even lead to giving up the hunt for the top weapons.
The community has long criticized these paid carries and sometimes demonizes them like cheaters and DDoS users.
At least against the account recoveries, the planned changes could help.
Do you welcome the changes and want to make the Crucible overseer Shaxx proud or possibly even snag a PvP weapon?
