In Destiny 2, the activity “The Blind Well” is currently plagued by a matchmaking bug. However, this bug can be circumvented – and that in the truest sense of the word.
What happened? In the past few days, reports have increased from Guardians that after the last Update 2.1.1.1 from last Tuesday, the Blind Well of the Dreaming City apparently no longer works properly. Bungie has now officially confirmed a bug on Twitter.

How does the bug manifest? The Blind Well, a cooperative activity in the Dreaming City, does not have a proper player search like Strikes or “The Forging of the Chain”. Nevertheless, you are supposed to encounter other players randomly in this instance.
Currently, that is only extremely rare. A bug is currently preventing the instance matchmaking from mixing you together with other players in the activity. As a result, you often find yourself alone or only with your fixed team there, making the activity significantly harder or even impossible for Guardians with a lower power level.
How is Bungie responding? Bungie has already become aware of this bug and is working on a fix. When exactly this will be released is still unknown. In the meantime, the studio has published a workaround that is supposed to provide temporary relief. This solution is indeed quite curious.
Here’s how you can circumvent the matchmaking bug: To avoid the occurrence of the bug, you should do the following when attempting to complete the Blind Well:
- You first enter the Blind Well via a staircase and then through a corridor that splits to the right and left and then closes back into a passage.

Have you also been plagued by this bug and couldn’t find teammates in the Blind Well?
