In Destiny 2, weapon crafting is a topic of its own. For many Guardians, this feature simplifies the path to their God roll, but many mechanics behind it cause frustration in the community. However, Bungie has now announced that some changes are meant to finally improve the weapon forge.
What has been announced? On Thursday evening, October 27, the notorious “This Week at Bungie” blog post came with a lot of news regarding changes for Destiny 2.
The most important information in this post was this time changes for weapon crafting. Bungie has analyzed the system behind it and identified some sources of problems that are to be eliminated in the coming months.
These problems include primarily:
- the difficulty in obtaining desired blueprints
- hoarding weapons for crafting materials
- stress with your loadout due to weapons with red borders
- poor adept weapons in grandmaster raids
Finally blueprints for the weapons you want
Lightfall will make some things better: Bungie has looked closely at the above-mentioned issues that affect weapon crafting. However, these are to be addressed with the release of Lightfall and the following solutions:
- More sources will exist to obtain resonance alloys,
- paths will be created so you can decide which weapon you want to tackle as a blueprint first
- Bungie wants to reduce your compulsion to carry a weapon that disrupts your loadout just to level it or generate currencies
- finally equip grandmaster weapons from raids with improved perks to make them more attractive
Especially the adept weapons have had a hard time after the introduction of the weapon forge. Legendary raid weapons can be crafted with improved perks after obtaining the blueprints.
Through this system, the hard-to-obtain adept weapons are overlooked, as they are worse than their normal versions. Bungie wants to change this and provide you with adept weapons that can drop randomly with improved perks.
First changes already in December: However, that is not all, as Bungie also wants to make an old raid more attractive. From December 6, you will have the opportunity to obtain blueprints for weapons from the Deep Stone Crypt raid. Many of the weapons from the Europa raid are very useful and especially powerful weapons that should not be missing in any collection.
Clear your vault before Lightfall: However, the most important change is the adjustment of Deep Sight weapons that cannot be crafted. These will no longer spawn with red borders after the release of Lightfall.
With this, Bungie aims to relieve your vault and inventory. So if you still own such weapons, you need to extract their remaining materials, otherwise, they will be lost on February 28, 2023.
What do you think of the upcoming changes from Bungie regarding weapon crafting? Is this a relaxed step in the right direction or do you think more needs to be done? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
