The problem in this situation is that she was hired as a “employee,” but allegedly does the work expected of an “engineer.” The correct procedure would be to either request a real title change within the company corresponding to the work she is performing, or simply refuse to perform work that does not fall under her officially assigned role. Instead, she changes her job title on social media without the official support of the company for which she works, which understandably upsets both the people with the position she claims to have and the people who actually work in the same role as she does.

And Malcolm Fitzpatrick believes that Twitter is the worst place to clean up something like that.
First of all, she publicly complained on Twitter. That’s one of the worst places for something like that. Twitter is not your friend. Especially when your boss knows your account. If you’re doing more than you’re supposed to, then ask for more. Don’t be petty, but clever.

And the player mounte45 also notes:
We have of course not heard the whole story, but judging by her responses on Twitter, I would say she was probably a nuisance. […] In HR, people are usually not fired for a single disagreement or incident, as this occurs with people with differing viewpoints and opinions […]. My guess is that she didn’t behave professionally at work and had a disagreement with her colleague. […]

What do you think about the incident? Would you also publicly change your job title because you actually do much more? Do you think there’s more to the dismissal or is it just the disappointed frustration of a former employee who misbehaved? Feel free to leave your personal opinion in the comments.
For those who prefer to focus on the game, we recommend an old weapon that is currently making its strongest comeback in Destiny 2:
In Destiny 2, players sometimes get an official behind-the-scenes look at Bungie. Employees share their findings or report on game development. However, last week there was a glimpse of a different kind when a former Bungie employee publicly aired her disappointment about her dismissal on Twitter.
Which employee is it? The former Bungie employee in question is Elisabeth Pring. She was employed at Bungie as a “Test Associate” and was also quite active on Twitter within the Destiny community.
She caused Bungie to trend on Twitter with nearly 9000 likes when she protested publicly against her dismissal and former employees of Bungie from her account.
Today is my last day at Bungie, I have been fired. Apparently, I created a hostile work environment […] and because I confronted colleagues after they reported me using anonymous internal tools.
writes Elisabeth Pring, a former Bungie employee via Twitter
This first post was followed by others in which she shared her perspective, gaining even more attention.
Especially the statement “the moment there is criticism, you get fired and it breaks my heart” triggered her followers and also the Destiny community.
You can see the full post on Twitter here:
Why was she fired from Bungie? According to her own statement, the reason for her dismissal was that she unilaterally changed the job title “Test Associate,” for which Bungie officially hired her, in her social media profiles to “Test Engineer” and also refused to change it back.
She emphasizes that she and many other employees from various teams allegedly agreed that their “work goes far beyond that of a Test Associate role.”.
I was hired as a Test Associate, yes, but I’ve actually been doing the work of a Test Engineer the whole time…
the former employee emphasizes several times

Additionally, she apparently expressed her frustration about parking in Seattle and received some negative reactions from current Bungie employees as well.
These events are said to have ultimately angered some of her colleagues at the Destiny 2 developer to the point where they spoke about her behind her back with HR. She assumes that this ultimately led to her dismissal.
Elisabeth does not name any specific individuals on Twitter. She only says: “You know who you are,” and followed this statement with several further explanatory tweets, which ultimately led to a witch hunt against various Bungie employees by the Destiny community.
Moreover, she also apparently posted a snippet of a personal chat with Pete Parsons, Bungie’s CEO, on Twitter.
Regarding the screenshot, she writes why she went public: “I spoke out publicly because things weren’t happening internally, but I went through the proper channels.”.

Additionally, she publicly accused Bungie’s Senior Creative Lead Tom Farnsworth of stalking her and hopes he likes her cannabis profile banner.

Is there a statement from Bungie? No. We have personally reached out to our contacts at Bungie and requested a statement. However, so far there has been no official statement from the developer regarding the incident.
Additionally, Elisabeth herself has now also made it clear that she did not actually intend to incite a witch hunt against Bungie or its employees.
On September 4, she posted a call to the Destiny community on Twitter:
Hey, I want the community to stop reaching out to my former coworkers. […] I have always risen in my life and will continue to do so because I love learning and improving the community around me. […] I will not let a company dictate who I am when I have repeatedly proven that I am bigger than the box they want to put me in.

What does the community say about the dismissal?
The insights were at least surprising and very open for players. Normally, former employees only publicly thank Bungie or report on their good time before starting a new job.
Thanks to Elisabeth, one got a very one-sided insight, but it was obviously all the more interesting. Nevertheless, not everyone knows what to make of it.
On Twitter, many initially expressed their dismay at the events. Elisabeth has even already received new job offers from other developers there.
However, after Destiny 2 content creator LUCKYY10P repeatedly addressed the drama surrounding the former employee on YouTube, there were also critical voices.
Here, especially the fact came to the fore that she ultimately made a decision on her own discretion that she did not have the right to make.
