In Destiny 2, Bungie’s game director speaks out personally and promises answers to community feedback.
In recent days and weeks, Bungie has faced some criticism from the community: the boring endgame remains a constant topic, and now there have been an XP disaster and even fraud allegations. Additionally, Guardians are simply disappointed that Bungie is being silent on all the issues, despite having two livestreams in the last two weeks where they could have at least addressed them.
Just a few hours ago, Bungie broke its silence in the form of game director Luke Smith: Answers are finally coming next week.
Bungie’s heads answer the questions
Luke Smith tweeted that the Destiny 2 team will talk about the details regarding how the mechanics will change with the December update next week.
This includes
- Economy updates: This discusses how vendors, the token system, legendary shards, and the way to obtain vendor gear will change
- Investment updates: This covers new reward systems on how to earn weapons and armor pieces
- Gameplay updates
- and more.
Additionally, he will answer some questions together with Mark Noseworthy, the project lead from Bungie, and address the community feedback that has been gathered since the launch of Destiny 2.
Smith and Noseworthy are the minds behind Destiny 2. They usually only appear when there are major, important announcements about the MMO shooter. During the Destiny 2 reveal in spring 2017, they were always present, but since the launch of Destiny 2, they have stepped back.
On Reddit, people are now looking to the future more positively. If significant and meaningful endgame improvements actually come in December, this could reignite the hype train, some say. After all, it means something when Bungie sends not just any developers, but the heads behind Destiny 2 themselves.
