Most enemies will still fall just as quickly after the patch. The bug-induced extra damage is overkill in many situations, and in boss battles, you can deal damage just as well.

Tomorrow, there will be a patch for Destiny 2 that will adjust the strongest sword in the game. MeinMMO will tell you whether the Falling Guillotine will still be worth your Power Slot.
Are swords too powerful? In Season 11, swords are considered a staple for many Destiny 2 players. The Power weapons offer immense damage, a lot of ammo (yes, swords apparently need ammo in the distant future), and their melee playstyle is simply fun.
The currently hottest sword is the Falling Guillotine. The oversized blade relies on a sword spin as a special attack, which really slashes everything apart. However, this attack deals significantly more damage than intended. This is due to a bug.
In principle, the spin attack simply deals damage again after its rotation. No additional ammo is consumed. It seems that the spin animation runs again invisibly shortly after the end of the first run.
This is happening tomorrow: The extra damage caused by the bug will be addressed tomorrow. Because on July 7, Destiny players will receive an update:
A problem has been fixed where “Falling Guillotine” could continue to deal damage to enemies after the animation of a heavy attack had ended.
Bungie on the upcoming sword fix
It is not yet known whether other swords will be affected by the fix. A similar “problem” also affects the Exotic Worldline Zero.
Will the Falling Guillotine remain the best sword in Destiny 2?
Bungie has a reputation for sometimes overdoing it with adjustments and nerfing weapons to the ground. For many players, this is a nerf, but it should also be considered that a bug currently makes the sword so overpowering, which is not intended at all. So this isn’t a true nerf.
Here’s how the sword will stand after the fix/nerf: Since the Falling Guillotine is so popular, many Guardians want to know: Where does the favorite blade stand after tomorrow’s patch? Destiny expert Ehorar has taken on this question and can already reassured.
According to his tests, the Falling Guillotine will still be the best sword in Season 11. Here are the reasons:
- The heavy attack still deals about five times the damage of a normal strike.
- The heavy attack costs only 4 ammo.
- The heavy attack of the other new sword (Claw of Temptation) costs 8 ammo but deals three times the damage – and at a distance.
- Other legendary swords also consume 4 ammo for their heavy attack and deal about 3.5X the damage of a standard strike.
Ehroar predicts that our play style with the Falling Guillotine will not really change and that the sword will remain one of the best weapons of the entire Season of Arrival.
