Destiny 2 polishes weapons from the Moon and the Dreaming City with new perks and level caps in Season 14. Everything about the return and why some players complain about it, while others are excited.
What’s coming: To make your arsenal in Destiny 2 a bit more varied, 12 “new” weapons are coming to the action MMO soon. However, the items are not entirely new; they are updated versions of the weapons from the Moon and the Dreaming City – the two DLC locations from 2018 (Forsaken) and 2019 (Shadowkeep).
- The 12 weapons come with new perks, which are partially only found on weapons of the ongoing Season 14
- All returning weapons have a new and especially an unlimited infusion cap (you can upgrade the weapons endlessly).
- You will find the updated weapons exactly at the original loot sources.
- Already in the past Season 13, 8 weapons from the Moon and the Dreaming City arsenal returned. With the new returns, all weapons from both locations can now be found in a more current form in Destiny 2.

When are the “new” weapons coming? Bungie is planning a new update for Destiny 2 on July 6. The patch is supposed to include among other things the 12 enhanced weapons (and also fix some issues). Therefore, a visit to the old DLC locations is worthwhile during the ongoing season of the Splicer.

Return of the weapons sparks criticism
So, those were all 12 weapons to look forward to in the ongoing Season 14. However, some Guardians see a problem with the returns.
This is positive: Some Guardians are excited about the returning weapons. For example, the sniper rifle Dusk Breaker’s Oath has loyal fans, and in the current PvP meta, the 120 hand cannon Sounding Lullaby should be really powerful. Many of the fresh perks on the old veterans are also quite strong and make the weapons interesting again.
According to players, this makes the old DLC locations significantly more attractive since the loot is then on a current level. In other words, everything you find in the Dreaming City or on the Moon can be used everywhere (even in the endgame). This is important since the DLCs can still be purchased afterwards.
What’s being criticized: Other Guardians do not like the reheating of weapons at all. And rightly so, after all, they may have already farmed God Rolls of the guns, which then stayed behind due to weapon sunsetting and now have to be farmed again.
Many players simply wish for something like this: “Bungie, make new weapons instead of always bringing back the old stuff with minimal changes!” This is a hot topic, as it currently also shows that especially the reheated content is successful: Many curse content recycling, yet the old content is currently the highlight in Destiny 2.
