Here’s what’s happening in Destiny 2 starting today: Today, October 6, a new event begins in Destiny 2 after the Weekly Reset at 7:00 PM – the Festival of the Lost.
This is the last major content for Guardians in the context of the extended Season of Arrivals. Other than possibly a climax of the seasonal story and a transition to Season 12 or Beyond Light (maybe again in the form of a live event), Season 11 probably won’t have any more new content to offer.
In short: This is the last content drop designed to keep you entertained over the next 4 weeks. Whether it will succeed is unclear, as players have mixed feelings about the event.
What exactly is the Festival of the Lost? This festival is the traditional Halloween celebration held annually in Destiny 2.
The Festival of the Lost has its roots in Destiny 1 and is held in honor of fallen Guardians. Survivors gather in the Tower to remember their loved ones, friends, and comrades who gave their lives in the great fight. The festival serves to reflect and remember what one is actually fighting for and standing up for as a Guardian.
Aside from a festively decorated Tower with candles, pumpkins, and colorful lanterns, special quests, a spooky activity, and various thematically inspired rewards await you during the event.

What’s next for Destiny 2? The Festival of the Lost ends on November 3. Exactly one week later, on October 10, 2020, the next big chapter of Destiny 2 launches – the new expansion Beyond Light.
Among other things, you can expect:
- The Frozen Moon Europa – a new location
- New content around Europa and the Darkness, such as a new story or the new raid in the Deep Stone Crypt
- Stasis – a new element for all 3 Guardian classes that draws power from the Darkness

What are players saying about the Halloween event 2020? The Festival of the Lost is currently being discussed by some Guardians.
On one side, there are many players who say: Reheated, old stuff. Nothing new for years. Should this event seriously provide entertainment until Beyond Light?
On the other hand, there are also players who are looking forward to the event. For some, it’s the first Halloween celebration in Destiny. Others find the associated atmosphere cool. Again, others are particularly looking forward to the armor ornaments and other cosmetics this year. Because they really look quite appealing this time.
