Destiny 2 seems to want to continue its new tradition of gaming crossovers in Lightfall as well. At least, that’s what a mysterious tweet from the creators of Among Us suggested on Twitter. MeinMMO took a look at how much of the loot shooter is involved in this announcement.
Oh yes, you can pet the worm!
What kind of crossover announcement is this? At the beginning of February 2023, the creators of the multiplayer party game “Among Us” posted a roadmap for 2023. It mentioned that they also plan to enter new collaborations this year.
Collaborations are so much fun for us, and we love seeing your reactions to the chaotic things we do with other studios. We have some big projects planned for this year, and I believe you will flip out because it’s so cool.

Now there was another tweet with an image and the words “Eyes up, crew members.” There are actually only a few blacked-out figures visible. There’s also the sentence “A detailed message about some impostors found who might soon be hiding among a certain fireteam.”
Players believe they recognize Destiny characters: Fans of the Destiny franchise were already suspicious when they saw the text on the image, as it suspiciously resembles the typical phrase for Commander Zavala: “Eyes up, Guardians.” But those weren’t all the hints.
- Anyone who looked closely at the image could conclude that the character in the foreground perfectly matches the distinctive helmet of the 14th Saint.
- Among Us also mentioned the word “fireteam” in its tweet, which could also refer to the six-player squads in the online FPS shooter.
- And the former community manager dmg04 also shared the tweet on Twitter and commented on it with two surprised-looking eyes.
It is therefore not out of the question that both games might come together soon. For Destiny 2, it wouldn’t be the first gaming crossover. They already collaborated with Fortnite, Fall Guys, and recently with Assassin’s Creed during the “Witch Queen” year.

The crossover could be colorful and funny
What could the cooperation actually look like? Similar to the previous collaborations, the guardians might soon expect cool new cosmetics in Among Us style.
Among Us-inspired armor ornaments for players from Destiny 2 could turn out to be even funnier. With this idea, some proud guardians got a little dizzy, just like Jonathan Oldridge. He commented under the announcement: “I will uninstall Destiny 2 if this is real.”
It could just as well simply be an Among Us map inspired by Destiny 2. Especially since Among Us developers Innersloth have already talked about wanting to release new maps this year.
What other players say about the crossover: However, additional voices from the community could also be captured on Twitter and Reddit. Some players would find a crossover with Among Us really cool and are looking forward to potential cosmetics.
- For example, SnakeHarmer via reddit writes: “I would love it if Among Us soon has official content for both Halo and Destiny. Big win for Bungie.”
- And LostInStatic thinks: “The Assassin’s Creed armors were incredibly well made (especially the Kassandra set), so I’m curious to see what these skins will look like.”
But it wasn’t just in 2023 that Among Us was a topic in Destiny 2. This funny Among Us parody was shared by Clan Garrison two years ago via YouTube. The Guardians from Destiny 2 seem to have had a special affinity for this game for a long time.
When could it happen? Neither Among Us nor Destiny 2 currently have more detailed information about a possible crossover and have also not provided any specific dates. However, it could coincide with the release date of Lightfall on February 28 and thus be associated with Season 20.
