In Destiny 2, it won’t be long before the upcoming Season 18 brings you fresh content. Additionally, players can once again experience a Legacy Raid. However, Bungie has unfortunately not revealed which one it will be. That’s why we’re asking our community today which one they would like to see return.
What is a Legacy Raid? To bring more variety, Bungie has been adding either a raid or a new dungeon each season since Witch Queen. Specifically for the raids, this means exactly two are introduced per DLC. One is always brand new and still unknown. The second is a nostalgic raid that some players may already know from Destiny 1.
After “The Vault of Glass” returned in 2021, there are only three other candidates that can launch on August 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
- Crota’s End, the raid from the “The Dark Below” expansion of 2014.
- Content: Although Crota’s soul was banished, he remains a threat. Guardians must descend into the deepest pit of Hellmouth to eliminate this threat. Though Crota appears invincible, the soul-siphoning power of an Ascendant Sword can be used to bring him down.
- The challenging King’s Fall Raid, from the “The Taken King” expansion of 2015
- Content: The raid takes the Guardians into the deepest depths of the Dreadnaught and concludes the “Taken King” expansion. This raid was particularly notable even back then. It requires considerable communication and coordination from the raid team and was a different experience in heroic mode.
- And Wrath of the Machine, from the “Rise of Iron” expansion of 2016
- Content: The theme of the raid revolves around a fireteam of Guardians who must ultimately end the SIVA infection by killing Aksis, the leader of the Devil Splicers.
We already saw one of the candidates as the hottest raid favorite for Season 18 in 2021:
And there is also a prediction for “Crota’s End.” In response to the player’s request CaptainKaiburr, asking if this raid could be turned into a dungeon, Bungie’s Community Manager Cozmo replied as follows:
We can provide feedback to the team and ask if they might consider taking Crota’s End out of the DCV as a dungeon experience at some point in the future. It seems that the bridge would need to be revised a bit for that, but it’s a cool idea that should be considered.

In the big “Lightfall” showcase on August 23, Bungie will officially announce which raid will return to Destiny 2 in Season 18.
