In Destiny 2, there are two exotic hand cannons: Sturm and Sunshot. Sturm belongs to the hand cannons with extremely high power and range, which is why it can be quite useful in PvP. You need three critical hits to win a duel, which becomes a challenge due to the low stability and low fire rate. If you fail to do this, you will definitely lose.
In the hands of a skilled PvP expert, Sturm is the best exotic hand cannon. With Sunshot, however, all Guardians can have fun, which is why it is considered the more popular exotic. It is extremely useful in PvE.
The Sunshot has slightly lower power (78) than the previous hand cannons, but it has a higher fire rate. It is carried in the energy slot, where it inflicts solar damage.
The Sunshot has excellent values for reload speed and handling but falters in range, stability, and aim assist (60). The magazine size is 8. These are the stats:
What makes the Sunshot so special are its exotic perks:
Sunburn:This weapon fires explosive rounds and marks targets that have taken damage from Sunshot.
Sun Explosion:Targets eliminated by Sunshot explode in solar energy.
Because you can make enemies explode with Sunshot, it is popular in PvE. Due to its slightly increased fire rate, it also has a somewhat better time-to-kill in PvP than other hand cannons, but it should always be noted that Sunshot has significant drawbacks in range and stability.
You obtain the Sunshot from exotic engrams, sometimes from Xur, and you can choose this exotic as a reward during the campaign.
Now it’s your turn: What other hand cannons deserve a spot on this list? Which ones do you play with?
