Players who have battled through the Legendary Campaign in Destiny 2 are waiting for some really good rewards. They will be rewarded after the campaign with a power level of 1,520 and can choose one of the new armor exotics. But this is a nasty trap! MeinMMO reveals to you why you should definitely refrain from choosing the armor exotic.
The Legendary Campaign in Destiny 2 has been well received by players. Many have not even played traditionally but immediately started the hard mode. After all, Bungie has promised really good rewards for that, making it worthwhile to put in a bit more effort.
Once you have completed the Legendary Campaign of “The Witch Queen”, players receive a complete set of weapons and armor that instantly elevates them to power level 1,520. Additionally, Ikora offers the player two of the brand new armor exotics to choose from.
- Titans can choose between “Loreley Splendor” and “Raureif-Z”
- Hunters can choose between “Decay Ranger” and “Renewal Grips”
- And Warlocks can choose between “Secant Filaments” and “Osmiomancy Gloves”
Whoever has already chosen is in the nasty trap
As it turns out, there is a huge problem with the values of the armor exotics. They are indeed appallingly bad, as if you had drawn them straight from the collection. They almost always have a total armor value of only 46, making them not really usable.
At first, it was thought to be coincidence. But now that many players have completed the Legendary Campaign, it was clear that unfortunately, there were no exceptions. All selectable exotics from Ikora had these really lousy values, which is bitter because it has far-reaching implications for the affected players.
Where exactly is the problem? The armor exotics are considered Lost Sector items. They normally only drop when players play Lost Sectors solo on higher difficulties. The drop rates of new exotics are usually somewhat higher.
However, those who have already selected the armor exotic through the campaign will have their chances of a subsequent drop in a Lost Sector or in the Open World drastically reduced.
If you have, for example, chosen the Loreley Splendor helmet for your Titan, it is considered already acquired. Thus, it will no longer be the most likely exotic to drop for you in a Lost Sector when the headpiece is available.
So you don’t face disadvantages
When playing the Legendary Campaign, it is best to select none of the armor exotics at first.
You can easily cancel the selection by leaving the menu. This step is also not necessary to complete the campaign.
MeinMMO has tested this, and you can later, once the problem is resolved or Bungie has commented on it, return to Ikora and retroactively request the armor exotics from the Legendary Campaign. Even if she may no longer be in the Enclave location on Mars, she will still offer you the exotics. Just visit her at the Tower in her old location.
What if you have already chosen? All other legendary heroes who have already chosen must now hope for their luck or farm Lost Sectors to eventually have their exotic drop well. However, this may take some time, depending on loot luck.
Currently, similar problems are occurring with Xur: Apparently, not only Ikora with her armor exotics is affected. Xur has also been noted to have significantly worse offerings in terms of armor values. He only had armor exotics with total values between 48 and 50.
What does Bungie say about the problem? Unfortunately, Bungie has not yet commented on this. However, we are keeping an eye on it and will inform you as soon as further information becomes available.
