This week, Spider offers the guardians in Destiny 2 a new big wanted bounty. The goal is to track down and eliminate the Eye of the Darkness. As a reward, you will receive powerful equipment.
What is the Eye of the Darkness? It is the final boss of the new weekly bounty “Wanted: Eye of the Darkness”. This Hive Screamer has escaped from the Prison of Elders, and it is now up to you to hunt it down and take it out. You can find the bounty at Spider – the vendor in the Tanglevine of the Reef.

What reward do you get? If you master this big bounty, you will receive powerful equipment. This is random loot that drops items beyond the soft cap of Power Level 500.
Eye of the Darkness – Location and Mechanics
This is how you find and defeat the Eye of the Darkness:
Step 1: You can get the corresponding bounty for five Ghost Fragments at Spider in the Tanglevine. So first, acquire this bounty.
To accept the bounty, you need to have a Power Level of at least 500. A level of 540 is recommended. If you go with friends and tackle the bounty as a fireteam, it can be completed at a lower level. Note that you have seven days after purchasing to complete the bounty before it expires.
You can obtain Ghost Fragments from, among other things, public events in the Tanglevine.

Step 2: Now head to the area of the Miasma on Mars and look for the adventure “Wanted: Eye of the Darkness”. Note that this adventure can also spawn in the Braytech Futurescape area. However, all the important mechanics remain the same.
If you don’t find the adventure in the Lost Sector in the Miasma, check the other adventure symbols until you find the Eye of the Darkness. Since the target is in a Lost Sector, you should also check the locations and entrances of the two possible Lost Sectors on Mars:
Step 3: Once you have discovered the correct adventure, accept it and then enter the corresponding Lost Sector – in our case, Ma’Adim Subterranean (may vary). There, you will encounter powerful Hive enemies and possibly Cabal foes as well. So proceed cautiously and carefully. You are not under time pressure.

Fight your way through the Lost Sector to the boss room. The path is self-explanatory. When you reach the last large room, you will notice the initially closed Screamer, which is still invulnerable.

Step 4: Under the Screamer sits a group of Thralls. Eliminate them, and the boss fight begins. The Screamer remains invulnerable at first. However, numerous Hive enemies will spawn and make your life difficult.

To inflict damage on the boss, you need to kill the Worm-Touched. They are exploding Thralls with a health bar. When you kill one, it explodes and leaves behind a puddle of green slime.
If you stand in this slime long enough, you will receive the 20-second buff “Worm’s Trail,” which is indicated by a display on the left side of the screen and a greenish aura. This will open the Screamer and it will begin attacking you.

At the same time, you will also be able to wound the Screamer – until the buff expires. After that, the Screamer will close again and the game starts over. Follow these steps until the boss is defeated. Finally, you only need to redeem the completed bounty in your inventory. Then there’s a powerful reward.
Tips for the boss fight:
- Since you must stand in the slime to receive the buff, kill the Worm-Touched so that they die in a spot not visible to the boss. This gives you cover and you are not completely exposed to enemy fire. Note that the boss can change its position multiple times during the fight.
- Use a powerful power weapon like the Whisper of the Worm, the Sleeper Simulant, the Thunderlord, or the Thousand Voices. This will bring the boss down much faster than if you were to only use primary and secondary weapons.
