In Destiny 2, the 5th Ascendant Challenge “Judgment Abyss” is active. We show you where to find the portal and how the mechanics work.
Currently, you can face the 5th Ascendant Challenge in Destiny 2: Forsaken for one week. If you succeed, powerful gear awaits as a reward.
Here’s how to access the Ascendant Challenge: Visit Petra Venj in the Dreaming City. Petra is back this week at the Pavilion in the “The Shore” area. The challenge is available in her inventory under Weekly Bounties.
How to complete the Ascendant Challenge 5 – Judgment Abyss
The requirement for the bounty: Pick up the bounty from Petra for 1500 Glimmer and first look for a consumable called “Queen’s Veil Tincture”. This item opens your mind to the secrets of the Dreaming City for 30 minutes. It can randomly be found in all kinds of chests throughout the city.
You can also purchase Queen’s Veil Tincture from a secret vendor.
This is how you access the Ascendant Realm: In the 5th week, the portal opens in the Lost Sector directly behind the spawn point of the Dreaming City. Remember to take a tincture to make the portal visible.
As soon as you appear at the spawn point, turn 180 degrees and walk through into the Lost Sector. Follow the corridor outside, keeping to the right along the rock wall. You can’t miss the portal – you’ll walk right toward it after a few meters.
In the Ascendant Realm: As soon as you step through the portal, you land in the Judgment Abyss in the Ascendant Realm. Here, you first need to demonstrate your jumping skills.
Follow the lights from platform to platform down into the abyss until you reach a pavilion at the bottom with a tree in its center. There, two witches and several other enemies and Taken Blight Orbs will spawn.
Now kill the witches. Focus on the Blight Orbs first. It is advisable to eliminate these first as they slow you down and you take damage from them. This gives you enough space to take down the two witches afterwards.
There is really nothing to consider when fighting the witches – there is no complex mechanic with this week’s Ascendant Challenge. Just blast the witches into the virtual afterlife. Once the two are taken out, the chest spawns in the middle of the pavilion. Once you open it, the Ascendant Challenge is complete.
