An insider source has released information about Destiny 2. Bungie is reportedly required to deliver in 2017, otherwise shares will go to Activision.
In the past, the US site Kotaku stood out with insider information about Destiny. They were able to provide insights behind Bungie’s closed doors several times. They apparently have insider sources that they can tap into regularly. This time, there was news.
Insider says: Destiny 2 must be released in 2017, otherwise Bungie will lose a lot of shares to Activision
On the day of the earnings call, Kotaku reported from insider sources that Bungie is forced to release Destiny 2 in 2017. If they do not, a clause in the contract with Activision would come into effect, and large parts of Bungie would go to the publisher. This was learned from two sources.
The implication is clear: Destiny 2 could become a necessary release, whether it is finished or not. The financial pressure is simply huge.
Bungie says: No
Then something rare happened. Bungie responded. Previous “insider information” from Kotaku was always left uncommented.
Bungie contradicted the statement. Bungie says: There is no scenario in which parts of Bungie will fall to anyone else.

Kotaku explains that they heard this from two different sources, both internally from Bungie and externally, but they apologize for the information and say: We believe Bungie.
Kotaku insists, however, that it is extremely important for Bungie for financial reasons to release Destiny 2 in 2017, as bonuses for Bungie employees are tied to the game release. The financial pressure is therefore present.
