Destiny 2 has finally revealed when we will learn more about the new expansion Witch Queen. In August, Bungie will hold a showcase for the DLC in a live stream. MeinMMO summarizes the most important information for you.
When will the showcase take place? Bungie announced on Twitter that the showcase will take place on August 24. Then we can finally expect new information about the Witch Queen DLC.
How do we know that it is about the DLC? The Twitter post contains an image with the symbol for the expansion. That’s quite a clear hint. The last major expansion Beyond Light was presented in a showcase live stream. Now it’s likely to go similarly.

The DLC has been postponed, but the enemy is already active in the background
What is the Witch Queen DLC about? In the major expansion, the Witch Queen Savathûn will be our adversary. She is the sister of Oryx, the Taken King. Veterans will likely remember him from Destiny 1. He was one of the biggest enemies in the game back then.
Since her death, she has been pulling the strings as a villain in the background, and even her indirect influence makes life difficult for Guardians. By now, we even know that she has already disguised herself among the Guardians in the Dreaming City.

In the DLC, we will likely begin the witch hunt and go directly against Savathûn. However, much more is not yet known about the DLC.
At least we might now have an idea of what the witch looks like. Game Director Joe Blackburn posted a strange image in a Twitter post that possibly shows Savathûn in the shadows:
When is the DLC supposed to be released? Originally, a release was planned for this year. But Bungie already postponed the date to 2022 in February. We do not have an exact release date yet.
Players hope for a date but remain cautious otherwise
How do players react to the announcement? Reactions on Twitter range from excitement to skepticism. There are also new speculations, because in the posted image with the witch symbol, it also says: “Survive the truth.” Here are some comments:

Through the photo of the supposed shadow of the witch, players now also suspect that there will be a first glimpse of Savathûn with Season 15. It remains to be seen whether that will actually happen.
When does the next season start? Currently, Season 14 is running, which ends on August 24, the same day the showcase takes place. Season 15 will therefore start on either August 24 or August 25. It is also the last season of this year; the next section will thus already be initiated with the new expansion.
