In Destiny 2, there was recently confusion about the third Seed of Light. This seems to be tied to the raid. Bungie commented on it.
3rd Seed of Light in the Raid: When the first Guardians defeated the first raid boss in Last Wish, they and their viewers were quite astonished. Because for many raiders, the 3rd Seed of Light dropped. This is an item that is extremely rare and has been puzzling many players for days on how to obtain it.
This is what the 3rd Seed does: In Forsaken, three new skill trees with three new super attacks were added for each Guardian class . These can only be unlocked with the item “Seed of Light”. So each character requires three of this seed – although it was previously unclear how to obtain seed number 3. You can find the current locations of all Seeds of Light here.
There will be more sources for the 3rd Seed of Light
Bungie comments on the seed: On Twitter, a user asked whether Bungie really forces players into the raid if they want to play with all their Guardian skills and super attacks. Community Manager Cozmo replied that there are other ways to obtain the third Seed of Light besides the first raid encounter.
“There will be more ways to obtain Seeds of Light,” said Cozmo.
What options are there? This is actually still not known. There are scattered and unconfirmed user reports that the 3rd Seed can now be randomly obtained through stage 3 of the Blind Well. However, some users seem to confuse this drop with the 2nd Seed of Light, which is tied to the Blind Well.
Finally, Cozmo mentioned that additional options will “be available”. Likely, these are not in the game yet.
User Theory about the 3rd Seed: Some users speculate that the third Seed might also be available in the Iron Banner. After all, the Light and power level play a role there. When the Iron Banner starts this week for the first time in Year 2, we will see if there is any truth to this theory. Then the 3rd Seed could be obtained through the hardest PvE challenge and the oldest PvP challenge in Destiny.
What happened when the 3rd Seed of Light was discovered?
What did the Guardians say? When the seed was found in the raid, it quickly became a hot topic on reddit:
- Many users were horrified that Bungie now wants to force them into the raid to obtain all abilities.
- They accused Bungie of poor decisions. This raid requirement does not bring more players into the raid but only results in frustrated Guardians.
- They demanded a statement, which Cozmo has now provided.
