The exotic items are considered the best and most sought-after objects in Destiny 2. They have unique abilities that every Guardian wants to try out. You can recognize the exotic equipment by the yellow item symbols.
However, it is not possible to combine the exotics at will – You can wear only one exotic weapon and one exotic armor piece at the same time. So you have to make decisions about which exotic benefits you want to take advantage of.

How to get exotic armor pieces
In Destiny 2, there are several ways to get exotic items. Unlike exotic weapons, no quests for exotic armor pieces are currently known. Therefore, these are the sources for Exotic Armor:
- Farm exotic engrams:
- Public Events
- Loot and chests in the open world (Cayde’s treasure maps)
- Rewards in the Crucible
- Strikes / Nightfall strike
- Enemies with yellow health bars
- Very rarely, exotics can drop from legendary engrams, as well as from milestone rewards
- Presumably from the exotic vendor Xur
Exotic Armor – List of all Exotics with Perks
The exotic armor pieces are class-specific. This means that the classes Titan, Hunter, and Warlock have their own armor pieces, which can only be equipped by the respective class.
All exotic armor pieces have in common that they have an intrinsic, “exotic” perk that gives them a unique ability. In addition, they have perks that you can adjust the attributes of mobility, resilience, and recovery. We list the exotic perks in our list.
