In Destiny 2 the Dawning Event 2023 is now running. This means for the hardcore Guardians again: bake until the doctor comes. MeinMMO provides you with all the ingredients and recipes. You will also find out who you can delight with your delicacies this year.
In Destiny the Dawning 2023 has started. During the winter and Christmas event, Guardians trade their guns for aprons and mixing spoons – because baking is in full swing again!
This is how you start: To be able to bake, you first need to get an oven. You can get one from Eva Levante – you will find her in the Tower right in front of the decorated Dawning tree.
If you talk to her for the first time during the Dawning Event, you will receive a small introductory quest “The Dawning”. Here you will also receive your first ingredients and get to delight Zavala with your first delicacy. If you talk to Eva again afterward, she will reward you with another quest.
After that, the oven is at your disposal and you should bake and deliver the favorite treats of various NPCs throughout the solar system. The recipients will then give you thank-you presents that contain event items and resources.
This is how the oven works: You can bake with “Eva’s Holiday Oven”, which you find in your quest menu. The operation is quite straightforward.
The oven is easy to use: You will see all the necessary information and can bake the recipe with a simple click – as long as you have the ingredients for it. Baking the cookies is thus very easy and your collected Dawning Essence will also be automatically deducted and used for baking.
This is how you add a bonus:
- You can upgrade the oven to a masterpiece, which will then consume less Dawning Essence. To do this, you have to bake all recipes at least once. If you baked during the last celebrations, the oven has remembered all your recipes. So if you bake the new recipe right away, you can immediately upgrade it to a masterpiece.
- The oven is fueled with “Dawning Essence.” You typically get this only through completing Eva’s bounties or delivering cookies. However, if you equip the exotic ship “Starfarer 7M” with the perk “Holiday Spirit,” you can also get it through that.
- During the event, you receive bonus progress for leveling crafted weapons upon completing activities.
- Defeating enemies with snowballs also contributes to the progress of each equipped and crafted weapon. So it’s faster to level them up during the Dawning.

All ingredients for baking at the Dawning 2023
This year a new recipe has been added, the “Radiant Crispy Cookies” for Fynch in the Throne World. There is no new ingredient, but if you swung the mixing spoon extensively in the last years, you should already know all the ingredients.
As always, there are 2 ways to get ingredients:
- By killing certain enemy types
- Or by kills with specific weapons or abilities

Now it’s time to bake and delight NPCs throughout the solar system. Following the new recipes and recipients, MeinMMO will provide you with a complete list of all combination possibilities for the Holiday Oven that are relevant in 2023.
One recipe is missing in 2023: Unfortunately, Guardians cannot deliver Chocolate Ship Cookies made from Kabal Oil, Null Taste, and Dawning Essence to Amanda Holliday this year, as she has passed away under tragic circumstances. But maybe you should still stop by her little workshop.
All 20 recipes you need to know in Destiny 2 in 2023
For the Dawning 2022, you have a total of 21 recipes available. Along with the new recipe, there are 20 old ones from previous years. Our listing corresponds to the order in Holiday Oven 2.1 and only contains the recipes available in 2022.
Keep in mind that due to the Content Vault, some characters from previous years can no longer receive treats as they and their locations have disappeared or are no longer relevant.
Gjallarhorn Cookies: Combine Ether Stick, Delicious Explosion, and Dawning Essence. Then bring the treats to Zavala in the Tower.
Traveler’s Quark Balls: Mix Kabal Oil, Mind Spark, and Dawning Essence. You should bring the treats to Ikora in the Tower.
Telemetry Tapioca: Mix Vex Milk, Bullet Spray, and Dawning Essence. You should serve this pastry to the Weapons Master Banshee-44 in the Tower.
Eliksni Bird Food: Combine Ether Stick, Personal Touch, and Dawning Essence. You should then bring the food to Hawthorne in the Tower.
Gentleman Shortbread: Mix Ether Stick, Perfect Taste, and Dawning Essence. This treat should be tasted by Devrim Kay in the Church of the EDZ.
Everforest Cake: Put Vex Milk, Unbelievable Heat, and Dawning Essence in the oven. You should bring the cake to Failsafe on Nessus.
Vanilla Swords: Mix Kabal Oil, Sharp Taste, and Dawning Essence. Bring the pastry to Lord Shaxx in the Tower.
Bitter-Sweet Particles: Knead Purged Butter, Null Taste, and Dawning Essence together. You should definitely share your creation with the Wanderer in the Tower.
Fortune Cookies: Mix Dark Ether Stick, Unbelievable Heat, and Dawning Essence. The cookies should then go to Petra Venj in the Dreaming City.
Funny Cookies: Purged Butter, Electric Taste, and Dawning Essence. These are for Xur. He either appears every Friday to Tuesday on a random planet. MeinMMO always informs you about his weekly location. Or you can make it easy and fly into eternity. There he has a fixed NPC spot and also accepts the cookies.
Lavender Loop Cookies: Vex Milk, Personal Touch, Dawning Essence. This pastry should then be given to Saint-14 (the 14th Saint) in the hangar of the Tower.

Classic Butter Cookies: Fresh Purged Butter plus Great Texture and Dawning Essence is exactly the right cookie recipe for Eva, the nice Space Grandma, in the Tower.
Star Herbs Slices: Mix Dark Ether Stick with Dark Glaze and Dawning Essence and quickly fly to Europa to the Exo Stranger, as long as the cookies are still warm.
Radiant Crispy Cookie: Chitin Powder and Perfect Taste with Dawning Essence. This treats is very much to Fynch’s taste. So bring him something to munch on in the Throne World.
