In Destiny 2 Season 13, the Season of the Chosen, has begun. And traditionally, with the new season come new exotic weapons and armor in the game. MeinMMO shows you which new Exotics are already known, how to get them, and what else might be coming.
Season 12 is live: With the new Update 3.1.0 and the Weekly Reset on February 9, the 13th season of Destiny 2 has commenced.
This season revolves around another confrontation with the Cabal Empire, during which we will face a new warlord of the space turtles – namely Empress Caiatl, daughter of Emperor Calus himself.
In this context, there are also traditionally fresh toys for the Guardians – including exotics. Below we summarize which new weapon and armor Exotics your Guardians can earn during the Season of the Chosen.
New Exotic Weapons in Season 13
Currently, only one new exotic weapon is officially known. However, there are already concrete hints at another weapon Exotic that is likely to appear during the new season.
Ticuus Divination – Bow
What can this weapon do? The new bow is carried in the special slot and deals Solar damage.
Its exotic perk “Holy Flame” fires multiple tracking projectiles from the hip. Targets marked with these projectiles explode upon death or when hit by another Holy Flame explosion.
The weapon is rounded out by the perk “Causality Arrows”. Arrows fired through the targeting system cause Holy Flames to explode immediately.
How do you get this Exotic? You can obtain Ticuus Divination through the new Season Pass of Season 13.
- Buyers of the Season Pass can get the bow at level 1.
- Through the free reward branch, the Exo can be obtained at level 35.
How to get the exotic masterwork catalyst: You will receive the corresponding quest from Weapons Master Banshee-44 in the Tower shortly after obtaining the weapon itself. Banshee will then be marked with a blue quest marker. Once you have completed the tasks, you will be given the catalyst. You then need to level it by defeating 700 enemies with it.
As a masterwork, the bow receives the additional perk “Causality Quiver” through the catalyst. Perfectly drawn arrows causing Holy Flames to explode increase arrow damage. When hitting targets not affected by Holy Flame, this refreshes the duration of the Causality arrows.
Scout Rifle by Tex Mechanica
Officially, there is basically nothing known about it yet, but it looks like this season a new weapon Exotic will enhance the Guardians’ arsenal – namely a new scout named “The Dead Man’s Tale”. This is at least suggested by a data find.
Bungie itself has already teased a secret Exo quest in the roadmap for Season 13. This seems to be associated with the manufacturer Tex Mechanica, known for its hefty cowboy guns like The Last Word, Huckleberry, or Chaperone.
The weapon found in the data, or better said its ornament, fits perfectly into the picture.
What can this weapon do? This is currently unknown. All that is known is that it will be a scout rifle. The speculation about the return of “The First Curse”, also a weapon from Tex Mechanica, seems apparently not to be true.
How do you get this Exotic? It seems this new scout rifle will come through its own exotic quest, which is likely to start on March 16, 2021.
On that day, according to the data, the corresponding ornament should become available in the Eververse for the first time. So far, ornaments for corresponding weapons have always been released on the same day when the quest for the weapon itself went live, or on the day when the weapon could first be earned.
New Exotic Armor Pieces in Season 13
So far, 3 new armor Exotics are known – one for each armor class. Currently, there is no indication that more exotic armor pieces will be introduced during Season 13.
How to get the new armor Exos: All 3 following Exotics can be obtained as a random drop from Lost Sectors (at Legend and Master difficulty), when you solo master these activities.
Omnioculus – Hunter Chest Piece
What can this Exotic do? This is aimed at Nightstalker Hunters.
- The wearer receives a second smoke bomb charge and has damage resistance when invisible.
- If the wearer makes an ally invisible, they gain damage resistance while invisible, and the wearer gains melee energy.
Cloak of Harmonious Combat – Warlock Chest Piece
What can this Exotic do?
- This cloak grants you super energy from final blows with weapons that deal damage types matching your focus element.
- When your super energy is full, instead you gain a temporary weapon damage bonus that matches your focus element.
This Exo can thus be used by all Sub-Focuses of the Warlocks
Chest of the Falling Star – Titan Chest Piece
What can this Exotic do? This Exo is intended for Arc Titans using the Rocket Code.
- The chest piece significantly increases Thundercrash impact damage.
- Additionally, as a wearer, you gain an overshield that lasts longer the farther you move before hitting a target.
