Tonight, the best Guardians are gathering in Destiny 2 for the Worlds First in the Legacy Raid “Crota’s End”. However, before the first Day One heroes dive into battle, Bungie has made a traditional announcement: the deactivation of certain items. You’ll find out specifically what you can’t use in tonight’s raid in this article.
What has Bungie announced for the raid? The raid “Crota’s End” is returning today as a legacy in Destiny 2, and the community can hardly wait to face the dangers and puzzles once again.
Especially since Bungie grants you a guaranteed drop chance for the new exotic in the competition mode. Many have already revived their fireteams and definitely don’t want to miss this chance.
The action starts today at 7:00 PM, and you can find all the necessary info on the participation requirements in this article:
However, in these 48 hours, Bungie will also strictly ensure that the raid remains fair and that everything is done by the book.
- Equipment, abilities, and weapons that are fun in the game or still have bugs are considered too powerful for a raid competition.
- The Guardians should focus on teamwork and tactical play rather than relying on overpowered gear.
For this reason, some items and abilities have been deactivated. And MeinMMO tells you which ones.
A preview of what to expect tonight can be seen here:
All banned items at a glance
Many teams are carefully planning their loadout and ability builds for the raid. But since Bungie has once again deactivated several strong items for the raid start, you may need to rethink this selection.
MeinMMO lists here which items are affected and explains why they are not allowed in contest mode.
Exotic Fusion Rifle “Area of Effect”
Reason for weapon ban: The Arc super of the Warlocks has allowed the fusion rifle “Area of Effect”, the pre-order weapon for “The Final Shape”, to use the alternative shot indefinitely without consuming grenade energy.
Warlock – Strand Aspect “Weaver’s Walk”
Reason for ability ban: With the Strand aspect “Weaver’s Walk”, players have extremely high damage resistance when they are in “Spirit Mode”. However, this aspect also blocks all weapon and game interactions, leaving players with very little to do. Warlocks were turned into “unstoppable gods” but couldn’t do anything else.
The effect of “Weaver’s Walk” is probably intended by Bungie and should only be limited to this damage resistance.
However, it seems that there were some bugs that were quickly discovered by the Warlocks.
- In the “Rift” mode, Warlocks with active “Weaver’s Walk” could hit the orb undisturbed into the enemy target.
- With a glaive and “Weaver’s Walk”, the melee option of the weapon was still usable.
This means that Warlocks with glaives and the Strand aspect would have been nearly invulnerable in the raid and could have killed everything with their glaives.
Titan – Strand Aspect “War Banner”
Reason for ability ban: The Titan “War Banner” made the Titan a sword killer and healer. The strand banner on his back radiates energy that regularly heals nearby allies and increases melee and sword damage.
However, a synergy was found that allowed the aspect “War Banner” to stack with several Titans. Additionally, if one also equipped the exotic “Synthoceps”, it melted bosses in seconds.
Moreover, the effect of the aspect on swords had a bug, as YouTuber CheeseForever discovered.
- Swords without ammunition sometimes dealt more damage with the aspect than swords with ammunition.
- By repeatedly pressing the jump and dodge buttons, Titans were able to deal nearly infinite damage.
Exotic Hunter Helmet: “Enemy Finder”
Reason for armor exotic ban: With the “Enemy Finder”, Destiny 2 has given a dusty exotic new shine in Season 22.
Tests by players have shown that the “damage bonus” with “Enemy Finder” is 25% for 10 seconds. And this could even be increased. Our Destiny editorial team was also excited about this rework, as the damage boost in PvE is fantastic and easy to trigger.
However, for the raid, this exotic is too strong and would tempt players to use the “Enemy Finder” instead of focusing on tactical play with overpowered gear.
Elemental Ammo Mod
Reason for mod ban: The elemental ammo mod in Destiny 2 is a benefit that allows players to receive heavy and special ammo by killing enemies. Its deactivation seems to be linked to the deactivation of loadouts and an unwanted interaction with the Strand super “Threadrunner”.
A bug was previously found with the loadouts, which allowed players to generate special ammo by quickly switching between their saved builds.
Misconduct and Overload Hand Cannon Mod
Reason for mod and weapon ban: The buff stack of the mod in combination with the exotic hand cannon “Misconduct” and the exotic armor “Luck Pants” of the Hunter caused absurd damage amounts. Therefore, both the hand cannon and the mod were banned.
- The explosive shots were accounted for in the damage stacks of the “Luck Pants”.
- This way, the damage increased nearly twice as fast to 10 stacks.
“Ecstatic Stacks”, Reserve and Armor Charge Mods
Reason for mod ban: Equipping the mods could overload a range of exotics and fragments. It went so far that you could have unlimited armor charge without decay.
Also, all reserve mods for ammo were banned as a result. Here, particularly the deactivation of ammo reserves could have significant effects as it would put players under more pressure during DPS checks against bosses due to the limited ammo availability.
Warlock Exotic “Sectant Filaments”
Reason for armor exotic ban: This exotic of the Warlocks also interacts with the hand cannon “Misconduct”. Bungie saw a problem here that it could possibly deal additional damage in the raid and thus banned it preventively.
Where are the items all banned? Specifically, “Ecstatic Stacks”, Reserve and Armor Charge Mods are banned across the game in Destiny 2. Everything else can be used outside the raid contest as usual.
When will the items be reactivated? So far, nothing is known about when Bungie plans to reactivate the items.
In general, most items should be available again after the 48 hours when the competition modifier has been removed from the raid. Guardians who want to explore the new raid “Crota’s End” on the Normal difficulty after the contest will probably be able to use them again.
