Destiny 2: All content leaving the game for the DLC “The Final Form”

The Guardian community of Destiny 2 experienced the finale of Season 23 this week. Although it is still several months until the new DLC “The Final Shape,” it is already clear which content will have to leave the game. MeinMMO lists them for you, so you can prioritize your gameplay optimally to not miss anything.

As the Guardians prepare for the mystery of “The Final Shape“, the upcoming changes that will seal the fate of some beloved game content are unfolding.

• All seasonal quests, activities, and vendors from the Lightfall seasons will disappear.
• Some items will remain for the Guardians, but the ways to obtain them will be restructured.
• Engrams stored with vendors will also be removed, and the ability to unlock seasonal weapons and armor will no longer exist.
• Additionally, Legendary Shards will not be available in the DLC “The Final Shape” and its episodes in 2024.

Destinations and Vendors

All destinations that provided seasonal locations will be reset. These are mainly the various seasonal areas of the orbital station “H.E.L.M.” and the associated vendors that granted you access to seasonal weapons, armor, and rewards.

• Season 20: The Wing of Resistance with the Resistance Season-strategy table, as well as access to the Farm
• Season 21: The Wing of Depth with the Diving Pool Entrance and the Sonar Station
• Season 22: The portal room to the Athenaeum and the Ritual Table as well as the Desk of Prophecy
• Season 23: The Wing of Wishes with the Soul Anchor Room and Riven’s Soul

However, the DLC destination Neomuna will remain, along with its activities, the vendor Nimbus, as well as all Neptune-specific weapons, armor, and more.

Story Quests, Activities, and Exo Missions

These story contents will disappear: The DLC brought a total of four seasonal storylines that will no longer be available from June 2024. However, it should also be noted: Some of them may return, be included in other playlists, or moved to the legacy rotations.

• Season of Resistance with all story contents
• Season of Depth with all story contents
• Season of the Witch with all story contents
• Season of Wishes with all story contents

These activities will disappear: With the removal of the four aforementioned seasons, their associated activities will also be removed.

• Resistance Battlegrounds including the difficulty level “Legendary”
• The Recovery and Diving activities including the difficulty level “Legendary”
• The various fishing spots in the EDZ, in Savathun’s Throne World, and on Nessus
• Savathun’s Tower, the Altars of Summoning, and the Imbaru Engine
• Riven’s Hideout, The Twist, as well as the activities Constellation: Tower, Castle, Pair, and Wish

These Exotics will disappear: Exotic weapons and their catalysts from Lightfall will also be removed. There were three exotic weapons that will not disappear from your collections if you already have them, but they may be out of the game for a while.

Again, some could quickly return, be included in other playlists, or moved to the legacy rotations. However, Bungie currently leaves it open whether and when this will happen.

• Exotic Glaive Vexcalibur
  Obtained by completing the exo mission //knoten.ovrd.AVALON// in the EDZ. At the Legendary difficulty level, you will also receive the glaive’s catalysts.
• Exotic Scout Rifle Malicious Tool
  Obtained by completing a hidden exo mission in the seasonal activity Diving. The catalyst is a random drop from a level 7 dive.
• Exotic Bow Wish-Ender
  Obtained by completing the exo mission Cursed. You can obtain the exotic catalysts from four constellation quests that must be completed on Legendary.

Triumphs and Titles

Once The Final Shape starts, the title triumphs for each season will become legacy and can no longer be completed. Therefore, if you want to flaunt them in the future, you should complete the seasonal titles by June 2024.

Weapons and Armor

Of course, the Final Shape reset will also affect all seasonal weapons and armor. Bungie may make these available again in other ways. However, it is easier to earn the desired god roll, all available weapon schematics, and armors within the seasons.

Seasonal Consumables and Currencies

In June 2024, some consumables will also disappear, such as the season engrams, the recovery or resistance keys, and the offerings for Eris Morn.

However, it is much more important that The Final Shape also means the end of Legendary Shards in Destiny 2. So you should not miss exchanging them for something useful. You can aim for these vendors:

• Clan vendor Suraja Hawthorne
  She offers 10 raid banners for 30 Legendary Shards
• Eris Morn on the Moon
  At the Desk of Enchantment next to Eris Morn, you get 1 Illusory Fragment for 10 Legendary Shards.
• Kryptarch Master Rahool
  With him, you can exchange Legendary Shards directly for Glimmer and also trade 10 Illusory Fragments for 10,000 Glimmer.
• Xur, the mysterious vendor of the Nine
  Xur is still accepting your Legendary Shards, if you visit him.

However, note: Don’t immediately spend all your Legendary Shards in Season 23, as you can still perform some actions with them, so you should keep a certain base stock.
