Cataclysm – Linear Fusion Rifle
This is what the weapon can do: One might think that the era of fusion and linear fusion rifles is over, as with the end of the Season of the Lost, the strong mod “Particle Deconstruction” has also disappeared from the game. However, Season 15 has caused many players to discover these weapons for themselves. The latest linear fusion rifle “Cataclysm” fires Solar and features a precision chassis. This makes the recoil behavior of the weapon more vertical.
In English, the name of this weapon is more appropriate. There, it is called “Cataclysmic,” hinting at the destructive event foretold by the worms of Savathun. In German, this implication from the developer doesn’t come across well.
Specific origin perk: The raid-exclusive origin perk “Soul Drinker” grants health based on the number of hits before reloading.
These are currently popular perks on the weapon: In terms of perks, this linear fusion rifle offers larger advantages as it can roll with “Overlapping Reserves” and “Breath Control.”
Uniquely, it can also drop with the perk “Targeting Adjuster.” This means you can have two damage-related perks in one weapon with this linear fusion rifle.
Is there a good alternative? The selection of linear fusion rifles is still limited. Therefore, currently, there is no equal alternative for this linear fusion rifle within Solar. While Reed’s Regret has slightly better base values, it cannot be obtained with “Targeting Adjuster.” The linear fusion rifle “Tarentula” would only allow for the perk combination with one damage-related perk, namely “Targeting Adjuster.”
In which encounter do you get the weapon? The linear fusion rifle Cataclysm drops in the first and second encounters of the “Oath of the Student” raid.
On the next page, we’ll show you a powerful Arc weapon from the raid.
