In Destiny 2, an exploit caused quite a stir, but even after its fix, you can easily obtain the coveted Umbra Engrams.
The new, glitch-free farming: Now that the controversial AFK farming exploit has been removed from the game, players are looking for a new way to quickly get Umbra Engrams. It didn’t take long for a new, fast method to be discovered – this time completely without exploiting: Nightmare Hunts.
Through the Nightmare Hunt on the Moon, you can obtain the coveted Engrams in about 2-4 minutes and also earn the seasonal resource “Changed Element.” The hunt won’t get done by itself while you sleep, but it goes very quickly and truly gets in no one’s way.
Here’s how to succeed in the quick Nightmare Hunt: Set the mission difficulty to 860 power. This way, you automatically get teammates, have hardly any negative modifiers, but still high chances for the desired loot.
This week, the following Nightmares are active:
- Madness – Fight the Fanatic
- Pride – Fight Skolas, Kell of Kells
- Torture – Fight Omnigul
Choose a Nightmare and master it. After a few runs, you’ll see that you’ll breeze through the mission. Take a sword and, for example, the powerful exotic bow Trinity Ghoul as a masterpiece to take down the boss and his adds in seconds.
Don’t forget to equip your armor with the special Nightmare mods. This way, you can take significantly more damage and also deal more devastating damage to the Nightmares.

Players are crazy about Umbra Engrams
That’s why Umbra Engrams are so popular: What is it about the Umbra Engrams that attracts players in droves? There are two reasons:
- Access to new weapons and armor – the interesting loot from Season 11 is mostly found in the Engrams.
- Faster power-leveling – if the armor focusing is chosen, you have a high chance of equipment above your current level. As Bungie stated (via Twitter), this mechanic has now been fixed.
But even if you’re not farming for the Engrams like crazy, you should be able to build up a decent supply through normal play. Because in every activity, you have a chance to passively find some.
