The release of Lightfall was anything but smooth for Destiny 2. Bad reviews flew in, and the story surrounding the upcoming end left many shaking their heads. However, a promised weapon set has still not made it into the loot shooter, except for one weapon, and players are wondering why.
Which weapons are missing? The dilemma surrounding the missing weapons started shortly after the release of Lightfall. The whole issue began with a powerful hand cannon with a laser attachment, which was found in a promo build before the release of Lightfall. Many players hoped for a new exotic, but it turned out to be just a legendary piece.
However, there were 5 more examples of this type of weapon:
- A hand cannon (Epochal Integration)
- An assault rifle
- A rocket launcher
- A sniper or a scout rifle
- An pulse rifle
- A grenade launcher
Except for the hand cannon, which could be obtained thanks to a quest in Season 21, all other weapons are still nowhere to be found. This has left many players frustrated.
An oversight or just a new trick from Bungie?
What do the fans say about the case of the missing weapons? Reddit user KitsuneKamiSama created a thread, drawing attention to a certain weapon set that was advertised for Lightfall, which still cannot be obtained in Neomuna.
In this thread, KitsuneKamiSama lists the weapons, showcasing them with available images like the key art and the picture of the first mission “First Contact”. He wonders where these weapons are, as Bungie had explicitly showcased them.
A user then expresses a cynical suspicion that might not please every player:

In response, Reddit user oakbea states that he wouldn’t bet against TobiasX2k. This unusual case has had a sour taste since the new mission for the hand cannon “Epochal Integration” was only available with Season 21, and not as advertised at the release of Lightfall.
It is quite possible that Bungie could implement further weapons in each upcoming season after Season 21 in the form of quests or short missions in Destiny 2. This would fit well, as new aspects for the subclass “Strand” are also included in each new season; thus, it would be a larger package that players receive if they stay engaged in the upcoming seasons.
