If the recent leaks surrounding Destiny 2 are to be believed, fans will have to wait another three weeks until the first heavy machine gun joins the game.
Recently, the well-respected leaker AnonTheNine delighted many fans and Destiny veterans. According to his words, the Thunderlord, an exotic heavy machine gun from Destiny 1, is set to return during the Festival of the Lost. He has now further clarified this statement.
The Thunderlord is not coming immediately – fans will likely have to wait 3 weeks
A mysterious quest awaits the Guardians: The Festival of the Lost starts today in its final week. However, as Bungie has already announced, a special quest awaits the Guardians at the end of the Halloween event.

After the Update 2.0.5 and today’s Weekly Reset, the Guardians will need to solve a mysterious murder case involving the former Reef Cryptarch Master Ives. It is speculated that the Guardians will return one last time to the Cosmodrome on Earth and that ultimately the first heavy machine gun in Destiny 2 will be the reward – the Thunderlord.
Here’s what the latest leak says: The speculations are based on data mining results and the leak from AnonTheNine, who claimed that the Thunderlord would return during the ongoing Halloween festival – despite the fact that heavy machine guns are officially set to return only in December. Therefore, for many Guardians, today is the day of truth.

But apparently, it will take a while until the Guardians can finally hold the exotic machine gun in their hands. As AnonTheNine further clarified in a conversation on Reddit, the Thunderlord will indeed be available at the end of the quest, but this quest will span three weeks.
So it will likely still be a while until it is known whether AnonTheNine was correct with his leaks this time. However, he has proven to be a reliable source in the past and is therefore highly regarded in the community. And perhaps with the start of the quest today, Guardians will already know what awaits them in the end.
