Destiny 2 will receive update 1.0.6 next week – What is changing?
Next week the world celebrates Halloween – but as we already know, the Halloween event in Destiny 2, the “Festival of the Lost”, is canceled this year. Neither pumpkins, candies, nor silly masks will appear in the MMO shooter; instead, Patch 1.0.6 will be released!
This update does not yet have a specific release date, Bungie only mentions “next week”.
The developers are already providing a preview of what changes the update will bring. These are not the complete patch notes, but only the main changes.
Patch Notes Preview for Update 1.0.6
The three main changes are:
- A problem with the Bureaucratic Walk will be fixed. This is an emote that currently allows you to walk through walls. It is responsible for the Trials of the Nine being canceled this week and not resuming until early November.
- There will be an adjustment to have more other Guardians present in the public areas. So far, you have often been alone there.
- Furthermore, several changes to the Crucible will be made, such as to the Mercy Rule and Scoring.

Crucible
- The mercy rule settings have been updated so that the mercy rule activates a little later in the match, allowing it to trigger through a wider range of points.
Conflict
- Point limit reduced to 50 (was 75)
Control
- Point limit reduced to 90 (was 100)
- The influence of enemy-controlled zones on the spawn system has been reduced
Survival
- Round time limit reduced to 2 minutes (was 3 minutes)
- Lives reduced to 6 (was 8)
Domination
- Win points increased to 70 (from 50)
- There is now a point for defeating an enemy Guardian
- The influence of enemy signals on the spawn system has been reduced
