The developer of Destiny 2, Bungie, has announced that they will be buffing some weapons and weapon types. In particular, the buff to the exotic Vex Mythoclast is irritating players. It is already too strong.
This is the announcement:
- Bungie has released one of its famous announcements of an announcement.
- In a Reddit thread from February 14, it was announced that on February 15, they would reveal their plans for March 5 with update 7.3.5. With the announcement of an announcement, Bungie traditionally aims to prevent Guardians from being caught off guard and collapsing in shock when they read an announcement unprepared.
- Players should expect a long post, featuring 6 buffs and 5 improvements in PvP. The blog post is not yet available, but there is a brief summary.
Love for grenade launchers and rocket launchers
What buffs are coming? On March 5, the following weapons and weapon types are set to receive buffs:
- Rocket launchers that are precise and those with high impact
- Heavy grenade launchers, including the legendary 1-shot grenade launcher Wave Frame
- Caster swords
- Edge of Action – the Titan glaive
- Ex Diris – an exotic grenade launcher
- The Vex Mythoclast – the fusion rifle
Withdrawal of love for bows
What changes are being made to PvP? Bungie promises to address 5 issues, implying that there will be heavy nerfs:
- The aim assist of bows and their damage against players is set to be reduced
- The duration of Truesight for the Wish-Ender bow will be reduced
- The Strand aspect “Thread Specter” will be active for a shorter duration
- The “Threadling” grenades from the Strand aspect will do less damage and be easier to destroy
- The target lock on submachine guns will be weakened
How is this being discussed? The details are still missing, but there are already some discussions. Particularly, the fact that the Vex Mythoclast is getting another buff is seen as “interesting”: Also, there are questions about what Bungie plans to do with Ex Diris.
The nerfs are being heavily discussed: Often it revolves around class balance: How can you punish the Hunter again when the Warlock is so bad.
The exact details of how the buffs and nerfs look will likely be revealed in the coming hours.
