Queen Breaker Bow – the somewhat different fusion rifle
So far, there are no new entries in the database for the weapons coming in the April update. Below, we introduce what the weapons were like in Year 1 and what use they will bring in Year 2.
In Year 1, you acquired the exotic fusion rifle through the quest “The Elder Cipher.” After completing the quest, you could choose between the Queen Breaker Bow, Lord of Wolves, and Promised of the Outcast, which are also presented on the following pages.
The Queen Breaker Bow is a kind of hybrid between a fusion rifle and a sniper rifle. The weapon has a short startup time before each shot and is therefore officially classified as a fusion rifle, but it has the range and power of a sniper.
The weapon inflicts Arc damage and has the following primary perks:
Hidden Hand: This weapon improves target acquisition.
Hip Fire: This weapon has increased precision when firing from the hip.
The problem with this weapon is that it’s neither fish nor fowl. It cannot compete with the strongest fusion rifles and snipers in Destiny. It is mainly useful at medium range, because in close combat fusion rifles and shotguns are more fruitful, while at range, sniper rifles are more effective.

In PvE, you can defeat weak enemies at almost any distance easily. Its advantages are the magazine size, reload speed, and accuracy when firing from the hip.
In PvP, it is risky to use the Queen Breaker Bow. However, in the right hands and the right situations, the weapon can be deadly. A headshot is enough to take out Guardians. However, you must consider the weapon’s startup time: Sniping often requires the right moment to pull the trigger. This reactive shooting is not something the Queen Breaker Bow allows.
It is a powerful weapon that is fun to wield in both PvE and PvP. It will be exciting for many Guardians since they hardly had the chance to test this extensively before the “Taken King” DLC arrived.
