A comparison between Destiny and the beta of Destiny 2 shows many similarities in the Tower, but also differences. Especially the Traveler under fire is an impressive sight.
Candyland is a YouTube channel that belongs to GameStar. Here, the focus is mainly on comparing graphics. We have already shown you the video, in which the graphics of Destiny 2 on the PS4 are compared to the graphics of the PS4 Pro.
Now, Candyland is taking a look at the comparison of Destiny to Destiny 2 and showing the different scenes in the Tower.

In Destiny 1 everything is still fine and calm. In Destiny 2 the Cabal have invaded and are laying the Tower to waste.
The Traveler – Friend that we are envied for, or enemy that we protect wrongly?
Especially impressive is an image that shows the Traveler: It is the mysterious “moon-like” structure that hovers above the Last City.
The Traveler was responsible for a golden age of humanity, leading them to the stars – unfortunately, he is probably also to blame for the downfall of humanity.
Because somehow the Traveler attracts trouble. Alien races like the Cabal envy humanity their position as “chosen people of the Traveler” and want to prove that they deserve this power much more than humanity. And they want to prove it by exterminating humanity.

Or is it all quite different and the Traveler is not the “good one” that we are envied for, but an evil force that we protect because we are blinded? Are we zombie servants of an evil power? Are we like Tom Cruise in Oblivion, who thinks he is the good one while serving the evil?
A core mystery of Destiny that has hardly been illuminated so far.
A Tower under siege
While the Traveler majestically rests in Destiny 1, in Destiny 2 it is under fire – a kind of shield seems to surround it.
This is also important for the story. Because this is not a positive shield, but an aggressive defense shield.

The Traveler is to be separated from the Guardians so they cannot benefit from the Light – that is the mysterious power that grants the Guardians their “space magic”. In Destiny 2, Guardians live in a world without Light – perhaps the biggest difference to Destiny 1.
