With the High Elves, a new playable race will soon find its way into the MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online.
The High Elves are already available to testers in a preview version. They look a bit different from the regular Elves that you can already play – mainly because of their hairstyles, you can recognize the differences. The entry of the High Elves into the adventure of The Lord of the Rings Online is also interesting and different.
High Elves begin in the Second Age
When you create a High Elf character, you begin in the Second Age of Middle-earth, while the actual adventure of The Lord of the Rings is set in the Third Age. Your High Elf hero is caught in a battle against the dark Nazgul, where he is wounded by a Morgul blade. The recovery takes a very long time, which is why the further adventure then continues in the Third Age, regularly alongside the existing adventures of the MMORPG.
New abilities – but is it worth it?
A High Elf possesses some interesting race-specific skills. This includes resurrection and a boost to the running ability, which can only be used when you are not in a combat situation. Currently, testers are still trying to figure out how significant the differences between the High Elves and the regular Elves are. Whether it is worth playing the new premium race is still not quite clear.
In a video, a fan introduces the High Elves of The Lord of the Rings Online to you. The new race will be introduced with the Mordor expansion this summer.
