In Fortnite: Battle Royale, a fitting skin for the Halloween event has arrived in the shop: Deadfire. You can further customize this cowboy. Furthermore, he has what it takes to become the new super skin in Fortnite.
What is Deadfire? The new event skin for Halloween is a cowboy named Deadfire. He already appeared in the trailer for the Fortnitemares event. In his standard form, he is a cool gunslinger reminiscent of the character McCree from Overwatch. He is also the male counterpart to Calamity, the title character of Season 6.
What is so special about Deadfire? Deadfire already looks cool from the start, but it gets better. The more damage you inflict on your opponents in the game and the longer you survive, the more the outfit changes.
Deadfire begins to glow and transforms slowly from a human into a ghostly avenger. The same goes for his pickaxe and back bling, which become ghostly glowing shards.
The only reactive skin in the game: This reactive effect is currently exclusive to Deadfire. No other outfit has this. Not even Calamity.
How do I get Deadfire? Unfortunately, Deadfire and his pickaxe are not free. You need to purchase them in the shop if you want them. The price is 2,000 V-Bucks (20 euros) for the outfit and 1,200 V-Bucks for the pickaxe. This comes to about 32 euros for both skins. A hefty price!
Will Deadfire be the new Skull Trooper?
Is there more? In addition to the skin, the pickaxe, and the back bling, you can earn a cool glider shaped like a ghost train for Deadfire (or other skins) if you complete all the challenges for the Halloween event Fortnitemares.
The new super skin? Deadfire will most likely only be available for Halloween, and whether he will return next year is not guaranteed. Halloween 2018 is firmly tied to the Wild West story. Perhaps Epic will tell a different story in 2019 and feature a new skin for it.
This may be the only chance for the time being to buy the cowboy now for the event in 2018 or to miss out on him for a very long time (possibly forever). Therefore, Deadfire could become just as popular as the infamous Skull Trooper, the Halloween skin from 2017. Before his return, he was one of the rarest and most sought-after skins in the game.
What about you? Are you getting Deadfire or are you satisfied with Calamity?
