Zombies create plenty of chaotic moments in Dead by Daylight. Yet one zombie pulls out all the stops, achieving almost 4 kills.
Zombies are currently terrorizing survivors in Dead by Daylight. At least a little bit. Actually, the shuffling undead aren’t that threatening, but every few matches, there are impressive moments where the AI zombies suddenly transform into real killer machines and take the work off the killer player’s hands. However, as strong as in a recent clip, you will rarely experience zombies.
What are zombies? Zombies are part of Dead by Daylight’s latest killer, Nemesis. He comes from the “Resident Evil” universe, infects survivors with the T-Virus, has nasty tentacle attacks – and of course, zombies. They usually shuffle passively and leisurely through the map and only become active when a survivor comes within range. Then they approach and attack, should they reach him. This either causes an infection with the virus or, if already infected, damage.
However, some zombies unintentionally prove to be so clever that they form a perfect symbiosis with the killer.
What happened? In the Dead by Daylight subreddit, player Simalf posted a clip showing him playing a round as Nemesis. He plays on the map “Father Campbell’s Chapel” and is in a good position, having hung a survivor in the basement.
Suddenly, one of the two zombies starts shuffling purposefully to the basement, and the killer follows him. Together, they can block the stairs. Simalf can only watch as the zombie lady does all the work for him, attacking both survivors and then landing a melee hit.
That alone rarely happens – but shortly thereafter, a similar scene occurs again!
Thanks to the perk “Territorial Imperative,” Nemesis is alerted that another survivor has run into the basement to rescue his friends.
The zombie lady from before is right back and appears for another visit in the basement. Again, she manages to take down two survivors while Nemesis pulls the 3rd player out of the closet.
As if that weren’t enough, the undead lady comes to the rescue once more – as she reveals which closet a survivor is hiding in.
You will probably never meet a more effective zombie in Dead by Daylight.
Does something like this happen often? No. In most matches, zombies have a minimal impact on the gameplay. In most cases, they are simply too slow or in the wrong place to pose a threat to survivors. They primarily serve as indicators to determine where the survivors are or to apply a bit of additional pressure when repairing generators.
For a zombie to behave so “perfectly” is rare. That’s probably also the reason why the clip has garnered more than 4,200 upvotes.
