The latest DLC of Dead by Daylight is live. Watch out, from now on the Deathslinger can shoot you down – but you can sabotage faster.
Since March 10, 2020, the latest DLC for Dead by Daylight is live. The chapter “Chains of Hate” not only brought the new killer Deathslinger and survivor Zarina, but also a new map and a lot of changes to the mechanics, especially to sabotage. We reveal what has changed in Dead by Daylight.
What can the Deathslinger do? The Deathslinger is a little slower than most killers, but has a ranged weapon. He can use his “Redeemer” to spear survivors and pull them to himself on a hook. If he succeeds, he can severely injure the survivor, forcing them to stop their bleeding first. If the survivor is already injured, they will go down.
The perks of the Deathslinger and the survivor Zarina are detailed here.
This is how sabotage works now: Sabotage of hooks no longer works as before. You can no longer “sabotage hooks to 99%” and then destroy the hook at the critical moment. Instead, you must perform the sabotage in one go.
This takes only a few seconds, but has a high cooldown (in the case of a perk) or consumes a lot of charges of a toolbox. The number of possible sabotages is therefore more limited, but can be done faster.
The Trapper has also received some cool improvements.

This is the new map: As a new map, there is the “Dead Dawg Saloon”, a map like from the Wild West. This is also the first map where there is real daylight, as the rising (or setting) sun is clearly visible on the horizon. The map has a large saloon in the middle with many entrances and windows as well as numerous houses around it. Basically, the map is very maze-like and offers many hiding spots, but also a lot of tall grass. Especially the additional effects like desert runners and creaking wood create an exciting atmosphere.
Particularly cool: The new map has destructible walls that the killer can break through to create new paths. This feature is also to come to other maps later.
How much does the DLC cost? As usual, the Deathslinger and Zarina can be unlocked with in-game currency. The prices for each of the two characters are:
- 9,000 Blood Orbs (earnable in-game)
- 500 Aura Cells (premium currency)
Alternatively, you can buy the whole DLC for €6.99 in the respective store, such as on Steam. Both characters are included then.
The new map “Dead Dawg Saloon”, on the other hand, is free, all players can access this map, regardless of whether they bought the DLC or a character from it.
We have already presented the killer’s Mori animation here.
