The latest killer in Dead by Daylight is a crazy K-Pop star who knows that you are watching him while he murders.
Although Dead by Daylight has just fixed the biggest issues of the last patch, the next PTR is already on the way. The latest killer is quite unusual and a fan favorite – it is a K-Pop star who has “strayed a little” from the path. He is the star of his murderous show – and knows exactly that you are watching him and adore him and his music.
What can the Trickster do? The Trickster is a jack-of-all-trades, especially skilled in knife throwing. He starts the match with several throwing knives. When he activates his ability, the Trickster can fire throwing knives. Initially slowly, but with each thrown knife, the speed increases until a full barrage of knives is unleashed. As the frequency of the thrown knives increases, the killer’s movement speed decreases.
Survivors hit by the throwing knives have a laceration meter. Each hit slowly fills the meter, and once it is completely filled, the survivor takes damage and loses a health state (from “Healthy” to “Injured” or from “Injured” to “Dying”).
If survivors are not hit by knives for a few seconds, the laceration meter decreases again. However, any damage already dealt does not disappear.
The throwing knives can be recharged at lockers.
Additionally, the Trickster has a kind of “ultimate ability”, namely “Main Event”. When he has hit enough survivors with throwing knives, he can activate the ability. While “Main Event” is active, the Trickster has unlimited throwing knives, which he throws with extremely high speed. Furthermore, his movement speed does not decrease when throwing.

The new perks of the Trickster
Like all killers, the Trickster comes with 3 unique perks. As usual, he can initially only use the perks himself, but you can unlock them through the Bloodweb so that other killers have the opportunity to learn his abilities. His perks are:
Starstruck: Starstruck is activated when you pick up a survivor. Survivors within the terror radius are affected by “Exposed” for 20 / 25 / 30 seconds (going down with a single hit). Starstruck has a cooldown of 90 seconds, starting when the survivor is no longer carried.
Hex: Crowd Control: After a survivor hastily climbs through a window, the Entity blocks that window for the survivor for 10 / 12 / 14 seconds. The curse remains in effect as long as the corresponding totem remains in the game.
No Way Out: Each time the killer hooks a unique survivor, he gains a token. After the last generator is activated, the Entity blocks the switches for the exit gates for 8 / 9 / 10 seconds per token earned.
The new perks of Yun-Jin Lee
The survivor Yun-Jin Lee also comes with three unique perks that she can later teach to other survivors. They are:
Fast Track: When another survivor is hooked, you gain 1 / 2 / 3 tokens. You consume all tokens at your next great skill check at a generator. The generator gains an additional 1% progress per token consumed.
Smash Hit: After stunning the killer with a pallet, you go into a sprint for 3 seconds at 150% of normal movement speed. The perk causes exhaustion for 60 / 50 / 40 seconds and cannot be activated while exhausted.
Self-Preservation: Whenever another survivor within 12 meters is hit by a standard attack from the killer, Self-Preservation activates. Your scratch marks are hidden for 6 / 8 / 10 seconds.
When will the killer appear? There is currently no exact release date for patch 4.6.0. Generally, it takes 2-4 weeks after the PTR goes online before the patch with the killer is released. So you can expect it around mid to late March.
Killer is a crazy K-Pop star
This is the story of the Trickster: As a young boy, Ji-Woon Hak loved to entertain people. He discovered a talent for knife throwing early on and impressed customers in his father’s restaurant. His father recognized his son’s talent and invested all his earnings into training him in dance and singing.
Within a short time, Ji-Woon became one of the stars of the new K-Pop band NO SPIN and basked in the glory of his career. For years, the band was a great success. But gradually, the taste of success grew stale, divided among all five band members.
However, fate was on Ji-Woon’s side. His bandmates were locked up during an unexplained incident in the recording booth; only Ji-Woon was on the other side of the door. He had the chance to save them – but he saw it as an opportunity. The desperate screams of his bandmates were music to his ears. He let his bandmates burn and celebrated as a tragic figure who tried to save his friends.
After a feigned period of mourning, Ji-Woon adopted the solo name “The Trickster” and went back on tour. But he had changed. During his tour, he repeatedly committed murders and tortured his victims to extract screams and other cruel sounds, which he then incorporated into his music. Time and again, he left clues for the police; however, he was never caught.

Over the years, the production studio grew increasingly dissatisfied with Ji-Woon because revenues declined. Therefore, they wanted to take away his right to develop the songs himself.
Ji-Woon organized a final show to showcase his greatest work, his “magnum opus”. All decision-makers from his record label were present – and all were poisoned with gas. Only half conscious did they experience the Trickster’s last show and became instruments of his music as he slit, dismembered, and killed them one by one.
Only Yun-Jin Lee, who discovered him years ago and made him a star, was spared – at least long enough for the strange fog to flow into the room, enveloping both and dragging them into the realm of the Entity.

The Trickster knows that we play DbD: What is particularly cool about the story is that it is implied that the Trickster knows that people in the world of the Entity are watching him – namely the players. This is also evident in the main menu, where the Trickster looks at the “camera” and then winks at it, basically acknowledging the player. The Trickster breaks the “fourth wall” and is aware of what happens in Dead by Daylight – at least in his twisted way.
