The most annoying perk for survivors in Dead by Daylight is being changed. Hex: Ruin should no longer be an issue.
The developers of Dead by Daylight have spoken up in the new year and revealed initial plans for the next patch. This is a “Mid-Chapter Patch,” which is just a smaller update that brings balance changes and new content for the Archives. However, in addition to the changes to the Doctor, the most popular of all killer perks is also being changed and significantly weakened.
We are talking about Hex: Ruin.
What does Hex: Ruin do? So far, the perk Hex: Ruin (or “Hex: Ruin”) is almost a must-have for killers. When the perk is active, all generators are affected as long as the corresponding totem is in play. It ensures that the skill checks for survivors at generators are modified. Great skill checks no longer provide bonus progression, and successful skill checks even cause a regression of the generator.
How popular is Hex: Ruin? The perk is found in 80% of cases in the top ranks – that is, in the red ranks. These are the most skilled players. Hex: Ruin is also common in lower ranks. Overall, the perk appears in 45% of all matches.
This is how Hex: Ruin will be soon: In the future, Hex: Ruin will no longer influence the skill checks of survivors but will have a different effect. All generators that are not currently being worked on will automatically regress as if the killer had kicked them. The speed will be 1- / 1.5- / 2-times the normal regression speed.

How is the community reacting? The first reactions on the Dead by Daylight subreddit are extremely negative, as this change represents a significant nerf for killers in the eyes of most players. Many fear even longer wait times in lobbies. Particularly in the upper ranks, survivors currently experience wait times between 5 and 10 minutes. There is concern that with this change, even fewer players will want to play as the killer.
The changes will soon be available for testing on the PTR and will likely go live 1-2 weeks later if there are no major changes.
What do you think about the planned changes to Hex: Ruin? Good thing or a dumb idea by the developers?
