The mobile version of Dead by Daylight finally has a release date. We tell you when the killing begins and how this version of the game differs from others.
Over 8 months ago, the announcement came that the asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight wants to make the leap to mobile devices. After a longer testing phase, the time has come. Starting from April 16, 2020, Dead by Daylight Mobile will be available for Android and iOS devices.
What differences are there between the versions? There are several differences from the PC and console versions of Dead by Daylight. The most noticeable is probably that Dead by Daylight Mobile is fundamentally free, meaning Free2Play – as is common for mobile games. However, many of the characters must be unlocked, which are free in the PC version.
Additionally, there is a modified progression system that is significantly faster. This grants more rewards for less playtime. This is especially important because perk slots for the characters are unlocked earlier, allowing players to use multiple skills sooner – namely at levels 1, 2, 5, and 10 instead of (as in other versions) at 1, 5, 10, and 15.
The PC and console version has meanwhile received a killer that makes you feel powerful again.
Is there crossplay? No, the mobile version of Dead by Daylight is standalone and not connected to the versions on PC, PS4, Xbox One, or Switch. Therefore, you have your own pool of players who must play with the same controls as you. This is also good because, for example, visibility on the mobile version is a bit better to compensate for the small display. This is meant to create fair conditions.
Pre-registration brings benefits: Those who register for the game before release can grab some additional rewards. This includes blood shards (for unlocking cosmetics and characters), as well as plenty of cosmetic items for killers and survivors.
You can register here for Android devices and here for iOS devices.
Those who want to kill their friends on mobile soon can soon get started – even if you should probably stay home in the current world situation.
