Shortly after the release of the new patch, Dead by Daylight has to disable many contents. We reveal what is going on again in the only true “killer game”.
By now, it is a sad tradition with Dead by Daylight that new patches almost always come with problems. As soon as the new survivor Mikaela Reid was in the game, a lot had to be disabled again. In total, 5 map offerings and even a perk had to be deactivated due to sudden bugs and issues.
Which contents were disabled? In total, 5 different objects were temporarily deactivated. They are marked in the game with a message that they cannot currently be used.
In total, the offerings from 4 different realms (5 maps) were disabled. These are:
- Dead Dawg Saloon
- The Game
- Yamaoka Estate
- Lery’s Memorial Institute
The corresponding offerings that ensure these maps are played cannot be used for the time being. However, you can continue to collect them from the blood webs. It is also still possible for the maps to appear randomly.
Also, a perk was disabled, namely from the latest survivor Mikaela Reid:
- Boon: Circle of Healing
This is particularly annoying, as the Circle of Healing was a reason for many players to purchase and also represents the highlight of the current patch.
Why were the maps disabled? Officially, there is no explanation, but players are sharing their experiences in the subreddit and apparently have already figured out why the above-mentioned maps are disabled.
The reason is most likely the “Boon perks” of which Mikaela Reid has two different ones. There are totem spawn points on the above-mentioned maps that killers cannot reach. When a survivor blesses the corresponding totems, the killer simply has no way to counter it.
This is mainly because the killer has a larger hitbox. He cannot get into some small corners that survivors can access. Those few missing centimeters already ensure that the totems cannot be eliminated by the killer.
Why was Circle of Healing disabled? There has also been discussion about the deactivation of this perk. Some on Twitter suspect that “killers have complained too strongly” and that is why the perk was disabled. However, that is probably not the case.
The actual reason seems to be that the perk could cause disconnects. Some survivors report that they healed themselves in the Circle of Healing and were suddenly disconnected from the game upon completion of the healing. This could also happen if the killer destroyed the totem while a survivor was healing.
When will the disabled items return? That is not clear yet. According to their own statements, the developer Behaviour is currently working on a hotfix. It is to be assumed that at least Mikaela’s perk will be reactivated in the next few days. Whether the revision of the maps will also happen that quickly or whether they will remain disabled throughout the Halloween event, remains to be seen.
