Dead by Daylight fixes many issues with a new patch. However, one of the most important features remains disabled.
In Dead by Daylight, it has now become a long-standing, good old tradition that a large patch usually brings twice as many bugs and errors as new features and improvements. Even though particularly major issues were avoided in the Resident Evil patch, there were still a number of problems.
The first hotfix patch 5.0.1 addresses many of these errors. However, the new map “Raccoon City Police Station” remains disabled.
What has the hotfix fixed? Over 30 different issues and difficulties that the latest update brought. The most important fixes include:
- Nemesis can now more reliably interrupt survivors when opening a chest.
- The running animation of Nemesis is now also played correctly for viewers.
- The perk “Corrupt Intervention” no longer incorrectly shows generators as blocked, even though they are already accessible again.
- A bug was fixed where killers would freeze in place if survivors caused a disconnect while being carried by the killer.
- A bug was fixed that made pallets transparent when viewed from certain angles.
- Some generators could not be repaired from seemingly accessible sides.
- Trapper and Hag traps can no longer disappear into the ground.
- A bug was fixed where survivors could not aim correctly with their flashlight when injured, infected, and crouched at the same time.
The developers are aware that there are still some performance issues – especially on consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but also on PC.
What remains disabled? The new map “Raccoon City Police Station” was disabled on the evening of the Resident Evil patch. It was only playable for about two hours before the developers banished it from the rotation. The reason was a problem that caused crashes for some players. Although not all players were affected by the crashes, apparently enough were to temporarily disable the map.
The map has now been re-enabled – but only for private matches. In normal play, it still cannot appear, as the developers want to “collect more data,” since the issue has apparently not yet been found.
What kind of map is this? Actually, the “Raccoon City Police Station” along with the killer Nemesis is the centerpiece of the latest update. The map is meticulously modeled after its Resident Evil counterpart and almost all trailers of the current content feature it. With multiple levels and many twists and turns, it is one of the tightest indoor maps that Dead by Daylight has had so far – and also one of the most confusing.
When the map will be available again is still not foreseeable.
