Dead by Daylight is getting a crazy killer from the Wild West. He shoots with a kind of harpoon gun and pulls survivors towards him.
The latest killer from Dead by Daylight has arrived on the PTR and surprised players. Instead of a werewolf the killer is more from the “Wild West”. However, he doesn’t use a revolver, but has modified a rifle. The weapon fires a spear attached to a chain so that the “Deathslinger” can pull survivors towards him. We reveal what the killer and the new survivor can do.
What can the new killer do? The Deathslinger has a reduced movement speed of 4.4 meters per second (110% – like the Huntress) and a small terror radius of 24 meters. His weapon is the “Redeemer”, a modified rifle with a projectile attached to a chain. The killer can aim over the barrel of the weapon and fire at a survivor to sink the “harpoon” into the target and pull the survivor towards him.
While the survivor is being pulled, they can fight back and try to break the chain. If they succeed, the killer is briefly stunned.
If the survivor is pulled in and hit by a melee attack, they will be injured and affected by the “Deep Wounds” effect. They must heal themselves. If the survivor is already injured and is hit after being pulled, they will go down.
The weapon must be reloaded after each shot, regardless of whether the Deathslinger has hit or missed their target.

New Perks of the Deathslinger and Zarina Kassir
These are the perks of the killer “Deathslinger”: Like all killers, the Deathslinger comes with 3 unique perks that can initially only be used by him. However, they can be unlocked for other killers via the blood web in their teachable versions. His 3 perks are:
- Dead Man’s Switch: A survivor becomes your obsession. When you hook your obsession, Dead Man’s Switch is activated for 35/40/45 seconds. If a survivor stops repairing a generator, the generator is blocked by the Entity for the rest of the duration of Dead Man’s Switch. Affected generators are marked with a white aura.
- Hex: Retribution: Any survivor who cleanses an inactive totem will be affected by the “Clueless” effect for 35/40/45 seconds (cannot hear the terror radius). If any Hex totem is cleansed, including this totem, the auras of all survivors will be revealed for 10 seconds.
- Gearhead: After hitting survivors with 2 standard attacks, Gearhead is activated for 35/40/45 seconds. Each time a survivor performs a good or great skill check, the corresponding generator is marked with a yellow aura as long as work is still being done on it.

These are the perks of the survivor Zarina Kassir: The survivor Zarina Kassir also has three individual perks with which she starts the game. They can also be taught to other survivors and then used by everyone.
- Off the Record: When you are rescued from the hook or unhook yourself, Off the Record activates for 60/70/80 seconds. During this time, the killer cannot see your aura and the volume of pain groans is reduced by 100%.
- Red Herring: When you repair a generator for 3 seconds, it is highlighted for you with a yellow aura. The aura remains visible to you until it is fully repaired, you repair another generator, or you enter a locker.
When you enter a locker, a loud noise is triggered for the killer at the marked generator. The perk can only be triggered once every 100/80/60 seconds. - For the People: For the People is only active as long as you are fully healed. When you heal another survivor, you can press the “Active Ability” button to instantly heal the target by one health state. You will be injured in the process and receive the “Broken” status (impossible full healing) for 110/100/90 seconds.
So far, these have been the top 10 perks for survivors.
When will the new chapter be playable? Currently, the DLC “Chains of Hate” is playable on the PTR. It usually takes another 2-3 weeks before the killer becomes playable. This will probably be on March 10, unless there are major issues.
