The developers of Dead by Daylight have officially presented their mobile version of the game. The first images look promising.
At the 3-year event for Dead by Daylight, it was hinted at briefly, and now the cat is out of the bag. Dead by Daylight is going “mobile”, so it will soon be available for iOS and Android devices. And the best part: It will be Free2Play!
In the screenshots, you can already see how the developers have solved the issue with the interface. There are one or two large buttons for the different actions, which is particularly helpful for the killer, as they still do not take away much overview.
In an initial trailer, it is also mentioned that Dead by Daylight has currently surpassed the mark of more than 12,000,000 players – a huge success for a game that started as a small niche game in 2016 and many predicted wouldn’t have a great future.
What content is available in the mobile version? The content of the mobile version is supposed to be identical to the other versions. So, all game modes and characters will be available. Some licensed characters, like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger, are still uncertain. New license agreements will need to be negotiated. There is not yet a complete list of characters.
Same atmosphere, same gameplay: Basically, Dead by Daylight Mobile seems to be a 1:1 transfer of the PC version of the game. The gameplay is identical. However, there are expected to be small changes to the progression system. How exactly that will look is not yet clear, but it is supposed to be adjusted “to the different play times on these devices,” Alexander Rogaume from Behaviour told us in an interview.
Whether the mobile version can generate the same thrill and excitement as on the larger devices remains to be seen. However, the first images provide a quite positive impression.
When is the release? There is still no exact date – the release is supposed to happen in 2019.
