Even the horror game Dead by Daylight has a festive vibe. We reveal which cool bonuses you can grab.
Currently, a special winter event is taking place in Dead by Daylight. This even brings new gameplay and plenty of rewards. One part of it comes from daily logins – the rest through small challenges where you even have to interact with snowmen. We have all the info for you.
What kind of event is this? When you log into Dead by Daylight, you’ll be greeted by a snowy screen. The “Bone Chill” event is live from December 9 to December 23 and brings numerous unlockable cosmetics and even new gameplay.
On every map, you can now find a number of snowmen with which special interactions are possible. Survivors can climb into the snowmen and hide inside – similar to a closet. At the same time, they can also slowly control the snowman and move around.
Killers, on the other hand, can simply smash the snowmen, thus destroying the survivor’s hiding spot.
What do you have to do for rewards? If you perform actions with a snowman, there is a special reward at the end of the match, namely one of the event cosmetics. You can only earn one cosmetic per match.
Valid actions for the cosmetics are:
- As a survivor, slip into a snowman to avoid a killer’s strike.
- As a killer, smash a snowman while a survivor is inside.
- As a survivor, escape with a snowman through the exit gate.
If you meet at least one of these criteria by the end of the round, one of the cosmetics shown in the video above will await you at the end of the match.
Here’s what you get for logging in: Throughout December – and extending into January – there is a reward just for daily login in Dead by Daylight. This can be a nice amount of bloodpoints, iridescent shards, or even progress for the current rift, which then unlocks further cosmetics.
Even if you don’t have much time to play right now, daily logging in is worth it to grab the rewards.
Despite the event, there are problems: In the community of Dead by Daylight, there is currently a rather frosty atmosphere. Long waiting times for survivors are increasingly becoming a problem, as killer players are losing interest. The new perks have particularly contributed to many killers feeling frustrated, putting the game aside, or even switching to the survivor side. Almost every day there are new threads discussing how stressful being a killer has become and how one often feels bad afterwards – also because some survivors behave toxically. This is criticism that resurfaces in Dead by Daylight every few months.
Have you already claimed the rewards of the Christmas event in Dead by Daylight? Or can the horror game not excite you in its current state?
