The Halloween event “The Midnight Grove” in Dead by Daylight has started. There are many cool rewards – and blood points.
Just a few days ago, Patch 5.3.0 was released in Dead by Daylight, bringing the new survivor Mikaela Reid. Now the Halloween event is active and brings new activities and earnable cosmetic items. We will reveal what you need to know about the event.
What kind of event is this? The Halloween event “The Midnight Grove” introduces a range of innovations from which players can benefit and which even have minor impacts on gameplay.
During the event, pumpkins may appear all over the map (usually at the unused spawn points of totems), which can be destroyed by survivors and killers. The pumpkins grant additional blood points upon destruction and sometimes a “Trick” (a debuff) or a “Treat” (a buff).
Thus, destroying a pumpkin can either trigger a small speed boost for survivors or slow them down.
New Rift gets bonus progress: Almost simultaneously with the event, the new Rift “Crescendo” started – the Rift is basically the “Battle Pass” of Dead by Daylight, granting additional cosmetics. This time, the focus is on the Trickster and survivor Yun-Jin Lee, who are getting some cosmetics and plenty of story.
Especially cool: During the Halloween event, there are bonus challenges that grant new outfits for the Doctor and Mikaela Reid, the new survivor, entirely for free. These bonus challenges also provide progress toward the current “Crescendo” Rift. So it’s worth it to take these bonuses.
Free blood points for everyone: As usual with Dead by Daylight, there are significantly more blood points during the Halloween event. This is mainly due to the new offerings (pumpkin seeds) that you find in most blood webs. These transform some generators and hooks into event objects, granting additional points when used (repairing or hanging).
- You can recognize the event generators as survivors by the fact that they are decorated with a small pumpkin and entwined with vines.
- The event hooks are also decorated, but additionally emit an orange aura instead of the red aura for the killer.
Additionally, there are a whopping 666,666 blood points just for logging in during the event. As a bonus, there’s another 200,000 blood points as a small compensation for some server issues in the past few days. That makes a total of 866,666 blood points.
How long does the event last? The Halloween event in Dead by Daylight runs for 2 weeks, until November 4. Most rewards can be earned within a few hours, although some of them will only unlock in the second half of the event (on October 28).
Incidentally, Dead by Daylight is currently drastically reduced in price on most platforms. So if you want to recruit a few new friends, the spooky season is the best time.
