Two of the most well-known killers from Dead by Daylight are being significantly improved. We will reveal how Legion and Ghost Face are being enhanced.
The balance in Dead by Daylight is something that is constantly criticized. Depending on the patch and the latest meta-perks, some killers are significantly at a disadvantage while others are played more frequently. Two of these killers that simply did not feel strong enough are being updated in the next patch: Ghost Face and Legion.
The two murderous characters are receiving multiple updates. Not only are their addons being revised, but their abilities are also being improved.
What is changing for Ghost Face? Ghost Face will generally become deadlier and simultaneously harder to get out of his stealth. This is primarily due to two changes:
- Players marked by Ghost Face are now exposed for 60 seconds instead of only 45 seconds. Ghost Face therefore has more time to down a survivor.
- Players marked by Ghost Face can no longer pull him out of his night shroud (stealth), except through stuns.
These two changes alone should lead to Ghost Face capturing individual survivors faster and better misdirecting them before striking. But there’s more for Ghost Face. Many of his addons are being drastically revised since they have hardly seen any use so far. Initial examples have already been shown by the developers.
- Drop-Leg Knife Sheath: Ghost Face receives a 10% movement speed boost for 5 seconds after successfully marking a survivor.
- Olsen’s Wallet: Destroying a pallet or breaking a wall instantly resets the cooldown of night shroud.
What is changing for Legion? The Legion is also facing a whole series of changes that will make him or her more effective. The main updates are:
- The stun at the end of Feral Frenzy has been reduced from 4 seconds to 3 seconds.
- Each hit with “Feral Frenzy” increases Legion’s movement speed by 0.2 m/s for the remainder of that Feral Frenzy use.
- If Legion successfully injures 4 survivors with a Feral Frenzy use, then the 5th attack will be a lethal one that knocks the survivor down.
As a bonus, Legion finally receives a new soundtrack that plays during the chase. The soundtrack can even be altered by the “Mix-Tape” addons. Depending on the addons you choose, the chase music will change for killers and survivors.
What else is changing? The next update will also finally bring a long-overdue map rework: Haddonfield.
The map originally came from the “Halloween” DLC and was extremely unpopular among killers. The design of the map made it a “looping paradise,” which is why many killers gave up immediately when this map was selected.
But not only the design of the map has been changed, all the graphical details have also been significantly overhauled. Haddonfield was one of the last maps created in the old graphics style. Slowly but surely, the graphic update for Dead by Daylight is being completed.
There is also a change to the “Hemorrhage” status effect. Previously, the debuff increased the bleeding frequency of survivors. From now on, the effect will cause survivors to lose healing progress if they have not been fully healed – by 7% per second.
This makes it worthwhile for killers to disrupt survivors while healing, and it is virtually impossible to heal to “99%” only to finish the healing at the last moment.
When is the update coming? There is still no exact release date for these changes, but the adjustments will likely first go through a PTB (“test server”). Presumably, the release will be scheduled for late April, alongside the start of the next Tome.
Are you looking forward to the changes to the killers? Where would you like to see more revisions?
