The next chapter of Dead by Daylight is “Castlevania.” We will reveal what the sneaky Dracula is capable of.
Even in 2024, Dead by Daylight is securing one license after another. After Dungeons & Dragons, Tomb Raider followed, and next up is a Castlevania chapter. In an initial trailer, the killer and the survivor were revealed: Vampire Lord Dracula wants to suck your blood while Trevor Belmont joins the survivors.
What can Dracula do? Dracula in his representation is based on the Netflix series of Castlevania. He is quite a complex killer, as he has 3 different forms.
- As a vampire, he is in his humanoid form. He can perform a flame attack that goes over small barricades and can hit multiple survivors at the same time. The attack is comparable to Pyramidhead’s special attack.
- In wolf form, Dracula can sniff out survivors and perform a two-part leap attack. Additionally, he can collect “scent” orbs to reduce the cooldown of the leap attack.
- As a bat, Dracula cannot see or attack survivors, but at the same time loses his terror radius and the red light. He can fly over pallets and windows and teleport to windows. He can still hear survivors and see their scratch marks.
The deadliest form seems to be the wolf form. Mastering this should be the core of the gameplay, unless Behaviour makes some adjustments here. YouTuber Otzdarva showcases the killer’s abilities in one of his videos:
These are Dracula’s perks
Like all killers, Dracula comes with three unique perks that can be unlocked for all other killers through the prestige system.
- Hex: Wretched Fate – After a generator is repaired, a dull totem becomes a hex totem that curses the obsession. The obsession has a penalty of 27% / 30% / 33% on repair speed. The obsession can see the aura of the totem within a radius of 12 meters.
- Human Greed – The killer can see the auras of unopened chests, and survivors are revealed for 3 seconds when they are within an 8-meter radius of an unopened chest. The killer also gains the ability to close locked chests again. This ability has a cooldown of 80 / 70 / 60 seconds. Survivors open chests that have been closed afterwards 50% faster.
- Dominance – The first time an interaction occurs with any chest or totem, the entity blocks that chest or totem for 4 / 6 / 8 seconds. The killer can see the auras of blocked totems and chests in white color.
These are Trevor Belmont’s perks
Trevor Belmont also has three exclusive perks that you can unlock later for all other survivors.
- Eyes of Belmont – When a generator is fully repaired, the aura of the killer is shown to you for 1 / 2 / 3 seconds. Whenever the killer’s aura is shown to you, this duration increases by 2 seconds.
- Exultation – Stunning the killer with a pallet increases the value of your held item to the next level. After that, 25% of the charges of the item are restored. The rarity returns to its previous state at the end of the match. This perk has a cooldown of 40 / 35 / 30 seconds.
- Moment of Glory – This perk activates after you have rummaged through or opened 2 chests. If you are injured, you suffer the broken status. Automatically heal by one health level after 80 / 70 / 60 seconds. Then this perk deactivates. The effect is canceled if you are downed to the dying state.

What else is in the Castlevania chapter? Besides the two new characters, there is also a slight revision of the “Dredge” killer. He now moves faster when teleporting and makes less noise during darkness, making him a bit deadlier. The chapter comes without a new map – but as a small “compensation”, Dracula’s castle can be seen in the distance whenever you play against this killer. Currently, you can also still enjoy the last days of the 2v8 mode before it disappears again.
